Ninja-ja: Alpha v1.2 update is now available! Pokemon Tower Defense: v3.1.5 now available!

Want to play Ninja-ja? Get a shiny pikachu, shiny mew, shiny starter, shiny magikarp or have your suggestion for a weapon design to be used on Ninja-ja? Click here for more info on how you can get those things.

Hey guys! Sorry for the long delay on this Ninja-ja update. We've decided that it would be good if I (Dan) learned a bit more programming in order to free up Sam so that he can focus more on PTD stuff. So these first few Ninja-ja updates will most likely be a bit smaller and take longer than expected but we'll catch up over time and make it worth your while!

The Android version of Ninja-ja is on hold for now. We know a lot of you are requesting it but it introduces some issues that we're still dealing with. We'll definitely be releasing it in the near future though and possibly for the iPhone as well.

We've got a lot of cool stuff planned for Ninja-ja and there's certainly a good amount of you interested in it so you can expect a lot more to come!

This time we'll be sending out an email to everyone that purchased Ninja-ja which will include a link to the Ninja-ja updates page. Here you'll be able to grab any version of the game including all future updates. If you don't get the email within a few days email me at dbell1984@gmail.com

Here are the current changes in this update:

Added Metal Sounds
Added Grunt Sounds
Added Death Sound
Added Ninja Shadow
Added Intro Skip Ability (Just click anywhere)
Added Health Bar Regen
Added Combo Counter
Added Shuriken Weapon (It's a bit overpowered at the moment lol)
Fixed Holes Overlapping Bug

As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.

Thanks and enjoy!

Pokemon Tower Defense update is now up on the blog!

It includes:
  • New achievement added.
  • New pokemon to obtain, by code hunt and by achievement.
  • Dragon Rage, Metronome, Powdered Snow's cooldown is now 18.
  • Avalanche's graphic should now show correctly.
  • Fixed a couple of attack description's type colors that were off.
Look at the previous blog for more details on what this update includes.

Where can I play?
As always let me know what you think of the new features added to this update.

Thanks for the continued support.

  1. Hello Dan. Will we soon get a view of what the game is going to be like? will it have a story mode, or will it just be a simple high-score game?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Im glad this is finally getting an update, I cant wait for my email!

    ReplyDelete
  3. @Dan or Sam: only need to say that if you want help, here i'm ;)

    ReplyDelete
  4. @Anon 4:09 - It will have a little bit of a story mode, yes. The current setup is more along the lines of survival mode. We want to add some RPG type elements to it such as leveling, learning special moves, unlocking weapons, etc.

@Hiroran - Yeah, sorry about the delay. It'll get more on track as I get the hang of things.

@Anon 5:40 - Haha, thanks, it's not too bad really. It's more just me having to go through a bit of an initial learning curve is all. We appreciate it though! :)

    ReplyDelete
  5. where can i get it? i boght the master edition on its relese, i reseved the first version but i dont know how to update it. thanks

    ReplyDelete
  6. Just wanted to post that the PTD update will be on Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Finally! I have been waiting for this update for sooooo long. I think that you guys should tone down PTD, as it is a pretty horrible game, to say the least. I think you should focus on Ninja-ja. It has been out for over 3 months, and you have only done two updates. On a bi-weekly game.

    Pikmin

    ReplyDelete
  8. PTD ruls Ninja-ja is what they should work less on!

    ReplyDelete
  9. @Pikmin - Sadly you are in the minority when it comes to not liking PTD.

As for Ninja-ja, yes we have failed in the bi-weekly updates, mainly due to me. Dan is starting to pick up my slack so stay tuned for more.

    ReplyDelete
  10. @Anon 6:30PM - There is plenty of love to go around!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I have an idea. After the Elite Four, and we have access to all 151 pokemon, perhaps a bonus "challenge" set of levels are made which revolve around special levels based on the Orange Islands of the anime. Plus it'd give us more new levels to use the pokemon we gain later.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Are there going to be 'side quests' in PTD or is it linear?

    ReplyDelete
  13. hay sam, i dont know if you care or not but the credits button doesn't work

    ReplyDelete
  14. You should make different ranges for attacks.

    ReplyDelete
  15. @Dan Take as long as you need to get it working, I like the game so far and I love PTD as well, I think they are both great games. I would rather have a great game that took time to release than a crappier game that comes out instantly.

    ReplyDelete
  16. IS there anyway to update my PTD Download without having to redownlooad the whole thing again?

  17. @Sam:

Question about the new trading mechanism:
will it still be possible for us to enter trading codes to get pokemon, even after the trading center is implemented? I'm using the trading codes as a sort of box to keep my selection screen less cluttered/to hold rare/shiny pokemon, but I'll have to bring them all back if the codes become unusable. As a related note, a "storage box" profile to hold pokemon would be a nice low-priority addition, since after the first 21 pokemon, it becomes hard to organize.

    ReplyDelete
  18. sam, i cant find the new achievement, dog. :(

    ReplyDelete
  19. the link for the clue #6 is not working

    ReplyDelete
  20. I really love this game! Thanks so much for creating it, keep going!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Does rattata appear shiny? I've played route 2 LITERALLY 100 times atleast and have NOT seen ANY shiny rattata! whats the deal!!!?

other than that... PTD rocks =)

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Sam, Could you add in a feature to know were you got your pokemon, like through trade, weekly codes or caught; that way I could know which pokemon I got in a weekly code or caught myself. Thanks and great game!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Got a shiny staryu, took a bit of moving around to figure out a good combo. A hint would be try slowing down starmie. Im glad you the pokemon a staryu!

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's good that Sam can focus more on Pokemon Tower Defense. Now he can work on it more so that the game can get better. Unfortunately the update only kept me occupied for a few minutes...

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wish I could beat a starmie to get a shiny lol

  26. PokeFan Gen. 1 (MIX)July 3, 2011 at 4:19 AM

    @Dan, can't wait until my e-mail comes! :)

@Sam, regarding the PTD update (trading being blocked, shiny Staryu) would it be possible to allow shiny staryu to be achieved in two/three profiles? I want to be able to have a shiny staryu and shiny starmie but without trading its not possible except two different profiles. Also was hearing rumors that starmie may be glitched with the ability to learn all TMs? Not sure about it though; haven't tested it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. sam & dan, actually is really hard to see shiny pokemons (specially certain pokemon shuch as ratatta). I can understand that if shiny pokemon are special one they shouldn't be shown frequently, but... what about increasing the number of waves & incoming pokemon in each wave??

This would certainly raise the game difficulty, and also the time taken to complete a level, but also would increase de chance of seeing shinies.

what about creating a new playing mode called "swarm mode"; a hard version of the game based on the advanced mode (attack base power balanced, tower health...) with his own archivements (shiny hunts obviously); and of course the double waves in each level and the double incoming pokemon in each wave??. In this mode, strategies based on STAB/attack&sp attack increase, and area damage moves would be neccesary to beat any story/challenge level.

Think of it... it could be interesting

    ReplyDelete
  28. i got to say the shiny staryu and starmie graphics are tight some of the best yet! i love the game and have been happy with all the updates so far keep it up your system works well!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah! It's updated! thx! I'll fully joy it Sam!♥

    ReplyDelete
  30. BUG HEADS UP
Small one, but there nonetheless. Staryu isn't shown in my collection but Starmie is (because it evolved) I got it from the achievement #2 so I'll find the code for the normal staryu, but seems like an easy enough fix.

    ReplyDelete
  31. here's an idea for being able to switch moves easily in battle, basically have an optional widnwo that comes up from the bottonm of the screen with the 6 list of moves and are able to select em, it can be closed and opened at will for those who don't want it, just saves us moving around taking long to change the move

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is there any way for PTD to load faster?
After each update the screen is white for like 30 minutes...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi, is there a way to back up the save data on Android? I'm trying to update but the newest APK won't install as an upgrade, and I don't want to uninstall and lose all my saves.

    ReplyDelete
  34. i got shiny staryu pretty easy achievement sam you gotta crank it up like shiny hunt but i love the title "StarWars" <3 :D

    ReplyDelete
  35. Shiny Staryu doesn't learn any attacks. Just wanted to let you guys know

    ReplyDelete
  36. I HAVE AN AWSOME IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    about the tower health thing

we could add two diffrent kind of towers.
one type to get candys and one type to attack other towers

droon=the ones that get candys for the opossing team

attackers/strikers= the ones that strikes your defending towers

and we could even add more in the future!!!!!!

and also when the targeting system is coming out
you could have an target option for

    strike strikers/droons

and also when this multiplayer thing is coming out then you could swithch your pokemon type from striker to droon in the game and outside the game. also i have an new Faq u can add to the ptd FAQ:

When is PTD 2 coming uot whith the second genaration of pokemon i have heard many asking for that

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks for my shiny Staryu! :D

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sam! I have an idea about DayCare.

If egg is hatched, it needs some waves!!

    ..

For example, we got an vulpix's egg

and It needs to hatch 180 waves! (play 4times at route5)

I think it is good idea!!

    ...

    How about you?

  39. When you evolve staryu to starmie it doesnt show that you have it in your pokedex colletion. It disappears and just says you have starmie and not staryu

    ReplyDelete
  40. Recently found a bug on PTD if you have two games on one save-slot. If you've earned an achievement on one of the games, you can't get it on the other one. It says you've already got it when you try.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Great update sam...
Unfortunatly the challenge was too easy lol..

And i dint need to do the hunt as some stupid person had posted the code below the clues...

Someone always has to ruin the fun...

    Great update nonetheless.

    ReplyDelete
  44. When is trading going to be back up?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey I'm not sure if this is how its meant to be, but after I evolved my staryu to starmi it no longer recalls in the pokedex that I had staryu

    ReplyDelete
  46. I've found a bug in the pokedex, when you evolve staryu in to starmie, staryu no longer appears in the pokedex, don't know if you wanted it this way or not but I though you should know.
I love the game keep up the good work and take a break you deserve it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @Sam maybe if you won the whole game you might unlock a mode what I like to call "Boss Blitz". It's where you battle each gym leader, Elite Four member and the Champion and between each opponent you get to switch pokemon from the Storage System. The prize would valuable like a Shiny Eevee. And none of the pokemon will be catchable.

    ReplyDelete
  48. umm dan could u deliver a meesage to sam???
im wondering when the next level will come and same for the challenge mode levels.i havnt done mount moon2 on challenge of virmilleon city on story mode but i'd appreciate it if u at least did the updates for the new pokemon.
All my biggest thanks sam and you too dan.
oh and its good to hear your helping sam out dan.

  49. Hey Sam,

I agree that security is something you should concern and obviously part of the game developing but make it so that we have to be online to play the game... I mean was bad enough to have that for the achievements, but whatever, we could play the game normaly and hope those shinies would jump when we were online, but like this... whats the point of having the game (exe) on your laptop or on your mobile phone to play?
I mean on the way to work/school people can play on laptop without paying for internet, using their "spare" time to enjoy the game, but if we are restricted to when we are at home/work and we have stuff to do...
Dunno if I made myself clear, but... =S (oh and if people forget to save its their problem, not your concern, what happened in the old days when you where playing your pokemon red/blue after 8h and you forgot to save/bateries ended? LOL there you go)

  50. I am playing on a android with the ASK file and whenever I switch sound and fx on or off with the menu button in a level it freezes on me and has to be closed down to unfreeze. This is a very annoying glitch.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hmm, there seems to be an error in the TM learn set for Starmie. It lists several moves twice (such as water gun, psychic, and double-edge) as well as moves that I don't think Starmie is meant to be able to learn (mega punch, seismic toss, dynamic punch, and possibly others).

    ReplyDelete
  52. As far as I know, the Achievement does not work.I beat CG 1 again and It said I did not beat a Starmie, when I did.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sam
I found a bug with the move smack down. If you use smack down on a flying type then the flying type is supposed to be able to be hit by ground moves. In the game smack down doesn't do that. Please fix.

    ReplyDelete
  54. @Sam I got the shiny hunter 1 acheivment on my first profile and on my second. I recieved the shiny onyx on the first but when I tryed to on the second profile, it said I already had recieved the prize.:( I hope you can fix.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sam I found a bug with Starmie's TM set. There were many moves like Physic,Double-edge, Double Team, and Bubblebeam that were in there twice. Also a couple of moves were questional in there.

    ReplyDelete
  56. @sam
Theres a bug, Starmie can learn all tm's

    ReplyDelete
  57. Can't wait for Classic Mode, I'm tired of Vermilion City being luck based

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sam, this was a great surprise, thank you! Also shiny staryu is awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Sam there is a bug...

Staryu either normal or shiny is not in the pokedex, i have got both through the achievement and the hunt and evolved them and staryu disappeared

    ReplyDelete
  60. @Sam or Dan i got the star wars achievement on my first and second profile.I received the shiny staryu on my first but on my second profile it says, "you have not meet the achievement requirements or you have already claimed this reward." :( please fix this.

  61. @sam why cant my lvl 40 blastoise learn hydro pump or is this a bug ?

    ReplyDelete
  62. not a big deal, but could you fix the wave counter on vermillion city story level. it's about one wave ahead.
and maybe one more candy? again, not a big deal one way or the other.
    thank you. good job.

  63. Guys, come on. Make more Pokemon available. Magmar, Electabuzz. Pinsir, Scyther, Machoke/Machamp, etc. Come on guys. What's the hold up?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Why is trading down? :( That's one of the best parts...

    ReplyDelete
  65. Ehm, why does Flamethrower and Hydro Pump have equal power level. Like, shouldn't Hydro Pump be stronger than Flamethrower? And how strong will Fire Blast be?

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Anon 1150 squirtle learns hydro pump at 40, not blastoise

    ReplyDelete
  67. @Sam

Great game, but can you update newgrounds. The downloads and 'play PTD' tab don't work for me so I always have to wait a day later (I'm from the UK) to get the update when it comes to newgrounds! How long does it take to update each site?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Another APK glitch keeps happening to me. Some moves sounds occasionally come through even with the music and FX muted. This didn't happen till update 3.1.5 and neither did the glitch with it freezing after turning the sound on or off by using the menu button in the level. Only level I have tested on so far is route 5. Btw I am on a droid 2 global w/ android 2.2 for reference cause that might matter in the glitch happening

    ReplyDelete
  69. Why the hell do you go 2 weeks without a content update? Increasing security is nice but it doesn't really affect me at all.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hey Sam I have asked this question over and over can you have a look at this:

When you go to the select your pokemon screen and you realise you don't want this level you hit back and it sends you to the chapter select screen instead to the chapter you were on please can you look into this. amazing game by the way:)

  71. I EVOLVED MY SHINY STARYU AND IT DISAPEARED FROM MY COLLECTION!!! :(:(:(

  72. Can staryu and onix be catchable in 3.2? I wanna shiny staryu and starmie :)

  73. Hello Sam.
I think you should rebalance challange mode level 2.
After you have rebalanced the moves it is imposible to complite

    ReplyDelete
  74. hey sam i think there's a glitch for the staryu's (shiny and non shiny) ... once you evolve them they dissapear from your collection, i had to get a normal one again from the code for it to be in the collection again

  75. Sam, I just found a glitch. When my Poliwrath uses Dynamic Punch, it doesn't display the damage he is doing and do have the damage text set to on. Just wanted to bring this to your attention...good luck with the great games.

    Sincerely,
    Crazymerio.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The shiny staryu graphic looks really cool good job Sam.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Anyone have a strategy for Shiny Staryu? I can't figure out how to kill the Starmie.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Sam,

Could you please make the health bar be on the Classic version? I personally think it'd be better. Thanks. Maybe make a poll...

    ReplyDelete
  79. @Justin Welch If we keep getting new Pokemon, there won't be any left for future updates. Plus, more than half the Pokemon you mentioned are caught in the Safari Zone, which is several gyms away. Use your head a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  80. @Xtremevillain
Dunno about you, but I'm grinding Pikachus/Raichus up to level 40 at Route 5.
Oh, and I'm forcing my Growlithe to use Helping Hand to make all of my Pokémon stronger. I'm hoping that'll work.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Can Starmie learn dynamic punch? I´m confused...

Great job with the game, excluding this minor bugs!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Hi Sam hope you coould create a level or a cave where the fossils are introduced and maybe be available to get one.
Also add diferent types of stages not only caves and routes. for exampol:
power plant ice caves something like that

    ReplyDelete
  83. the TMs for starmie are doubled!!!!!!!

it shows RAGE twice and alot of other moves are twice

    -GSH45

    ReplyDelete
  84. @Xtremevillain

I used a gyarados, raichu, and golem, the gyardos used ice fang, raichu used thunderbolt, and goelm used rock blast, the levels were 32, 37, and 37 respectively.

The purpose of ice fang was to free the enemy so jynx would probably work as well.

    ReplyDelete
  85. @Xtremevillain you can only use 5 pokemon in this level and you can carry 6 so, you can use golem with selfdesctruct and then replace it with the extra one you have

    ReplyDelete
  86. Did that kill a Starmie? I've been using:

    Pikachu (thunderwave), middle field
    Raichu (thunderbolt)
    Venasaur (petal dance)
    Weepingbell (leaf storm)
    Gloom (poison)
    Nothin' works...

Good idea, I'm gonna try Golem SDestruct!

    ReplyDelete
  87. That didn't work...I used two golem selfdestructs and it didn't take it halfway....wtf?

    ReplyDelete
  88. It's simple, use a venasaur with petal dance, a pikachu/raichu with thunderbolt and the key is a parasect with spore.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Xtremevillain:
I used Venasaur using growth and then petal dance, gloom with giga drain, and butterfree using string shot and then change to silver wind. doesn't matter what is on the left side.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Xtremevillain:
I used poliwrath in center using dynamic punch, fearow top right using ariel ace,and pidgeot lower right using whirlwind on the wave 20 starmie .

    ReplyDelete
  91. Xtreme- I got by with a wigglytuff (thunderbolt) venasaur (petal dance) arcanine (bite) I'd advise using a raichu for the STAB on thunderbolt instead of wigglytuff, but I got lucky my first try, and it paralyzed starmie the first hit which slowed itdown enough to keep getting hit by super effective moves. I'd also advise using crunch instead of bite since it's stronger just to be extra sure lol hope this helps

    ReplyDelete
  92. Put a pokemon that knows any attack that makes the charging pokemon turn around [like whirlwind] in the center and it will be pretty easy to kill a starmie

    ReplyDelete
  93. I'll try it tomorrow. Also, lol @ most of the comments being at helping me. Both <3 and D:

    ReplyDelete
  94. when are you going to make multiplayer. is it going to be a battle from people around the world. You should make it like we pick what pokemon to use and its a battleground, we pick what pokemon we want to use and you get to make ure own trainer. The trainer should chuck a pokeball like in the original pokemon games. you get to choose what pokemon you want to use and the pokemon with the highest speed gets to go first and attack. it should be very easy to kill pokemon that is a low level but it should be harder to kill pokemon with a higher level.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Sam would you release the trade to Staryu? because it is the only way to get more than one shiny Staryu, if I switch from one game to another.

    ReplyDelete
  96. good game pokemon tower defense is and can someone tell how to get a onix please

    ReplyDelete
  97. anon 5:34 maybe you were hit by dynamic puch

    ReplyDelete
  98. Small bug! Staryu doesn't show up in Pokedex as being caught after it's evolved into Starmie.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I used venusaur with petal dance, a raichu with thunderbolt, a beedrill with stringshot, and a arcanine with helping hand. It only took me one try.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Xtremevillain:
    I used
    1. Charizard with Dragon Rage
    2. Raichu with Thunderbolt
    3. Gyarados with Bite

    ReplyDelete
  101. oh and sam its good to hear about the tower hp bar i guess.it would make the game more exciting.i also have a question.
Does recoil moves make your pokemon faint and return to storage like selfdesruct and explosion?

    ReplyDelete
  102. anyone else noticed that you can scroll right and left on the "choose level" screen by clicking and draging??

    ReplyDelete
  103. @Xtremevillain

    To Kill Starmie

    Top Right : Raichu
    Middle : Venasaur
Bottom Right : (Mew or Gyarados
    Anywhere Else: Arcanine

    Tactic:

Make Sure Helping Hand buff is up bevore Starmie comes at the last wave.

Raichu use Thunderwave for his first strike, change as fast as possible to Thunderbolt whend Thunderwave hit the starmy.

Venosaur just use Petal Dance and on the bottom Right you need a pokemon which can thunderbold like mew or arcanine.

    Like that it is easy.

    chears

    ReplyDelete
  104. @Xtremevillain on the right side, I used: Riachu in the middle(thunderbolt), Venasaur(Petal Dance) at the top and Victreebell(Leaf tornado) at the bottom, all lvl 40. That should work.

    ReplyDelete
  105. only 3 pokemon can attack starmie, and it comes in the final waves....... try like a charizard with scary face on top(then switch move) 3-4 golem with selfdestruct and raichu with thunerbolt

    ReplyDelete
  106. Sam

I found a couple of bugs with helping hand. If you evolve a pokmon with helping hand status then it keeps the stat upgrades but loses the red color. also when you use thunderbolt the pokemon using it loses the red color. Also not sure if this was intended or not: the pokemon that use physical attacks lose the red color while attacking. THANKS!

    ReplyDelete
  107. there are moves like double slap that do 20 dmg per hit where other ones like rock blast, which is useless now, that got reduced to 15, isn't this a bit odd. even fury swipes got 25dmg.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Sam

Isn't smack down supposed to allow flying types to be hit with ground type moves? Cause it doesn't in this game.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I used Alakazam and venosaur, and then pidgeot to do whirldwind. The last starmie is the easiest this way, because the pidgeot will always atack him. The other starmis are harder because sometimes pidgeot will whirldwind the other pokemons. I think you can change alakazam with raichu/pika and it will be even better.

    ReplyDelete
  110. If Staryu is avalible then it should be able to be traded, right?

    ReplyDelete
  111. @Sam

    HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!!! Please reply.
I got both staryu and shiny staryu, evolved them both into starmie and both staryu disappeared from the pokedex. I got another staryu through the code, but couldn't get another shiny one as I'd already done the acheivement. Please fix this! :'(

    ReplyDelete
  112. extremevillain try using a pidgeot with whirlwing at the bottom and it just keeps getting sent back to the start with raichu in the middle and venusaur at the top. Killed starmie easily 3 times in 1 match.

    ReplyDelete
  113. To kill Starmie, I used a Venusaur with Petal Dance, a Raichu with Thunderbolt, and I used Bulldoze with Golem once. I then switched Golem out for a Fearow with Pursuit and I killed it.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I used jinx with the ice attack to freeze and so you can kill easily a starmie

    ReplyDelete
  115. There's a glitch with the Starmie.
Some of the TMs show up more than once.
Also, is Hydro Pump going to be a TM?

    Post For yes,
    Don't post for no.

    ReplyDelete
  116. hey sam
i think that there is a bug on challenge 2 (old rod). Now it is more harder because you changed the cooldown of magnitude so now it is almost impossible to complete

    ReplyDelete
  117. Top right Golem - bulldoze
    middle Any with electric attack
bottom right any grass with petal dance

    left side doesnt matter

    :)

  118. Spam Bite, Rock blast and Petal dance, if you are lucky you get 2-4 flinches and win it, oh the starmies are always on the right hand side

    ReplyDelete
  119. i used 2 venusaur with petal dance, 2 raichu with thunderbolt, and a blastoise with bite. all of them are in level 40.
    starmie was defeated.

  120. I accidentally got Shiny Staryu on an older version of my account on your main site, and I want to trade it to my more updated account on newgrounds where I have already gotten my Shiny Onix. However, trading is down/being updated. Will I be able to eventually trade my Shiny Staryu to myself after the update?

  121. The bug with Starmie pokedex is already fixed?
i'm afraid to lvling my starmie shiny and non-shinie lol

and my achieve 1 is bugged .. i cap'ed a shiny geodude from mt 2 and doesnt counted to the achieve

  122. shouldn't my lvl 40 gloom have learnt petal dance?

I have the same issue with a level 40 Fearow not knowing Drill Run...

    ReplyDelete
  123. Guys, just use whirlwind, and strong pokemon

    ReplyDelete
  124. Three level 40 Raichus using Thunderbolt while Helping Hand'd killed a Starmie for me.

    @Ovamiat
Nope, Gloom and Fearow both learn the mentioned moves at level 53. And Oddish learns Petal Dance at level 41.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Cheers to the guy who said use Pidgeot's whirlwind. Got him using a Growth + Petal Dance Venasaur and Whirlwind!

Now working on trying to get a shiny Onix. I got a pidgey...hopefully MM2 will give me geodude and zubat. Anyone got a tip for rattata? I'm gonna try Route 1+2.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Did you finally get it xtreme? Lol

    ReplyDelete
  128. @xtreme do oaks lab. You get 15 per game and there wont be other pokes. Or wait til update with 2 new levels where a rattata could apper more commonly!

  129. just a thought...

what if instead of tower 'health' it was tower 'energy' and this was an analog for PP from the original games?

ie anytime a tower used a move a certain amount of energy would be spent. when the energy is depleted it would resort to a basic attack (struggle) until its energy had recharged.

energy should constantly recharge, but slowly. if a tower kills an enemy it would regain a set amount of energy and then moves like recover would immediately restore 50% of total energy.

idk just seems like it makes more sense than health, especially if your towers aren't being attacked.

ultimately towers should have health AND energy since both were present in the original games.

  130. No problem xtreme, i think the best for rattata is route 2, i saw somewhere it´s the place with more rattata per level. that or oak´s lab.. but you will probably have to play a lot of them.

MM2 and MM1 are great for geo and zubat.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Xtreme for rattata go like 20 rounds on oaks lab and you should see one. if you havent seen one by then just keep it going until you see one.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I would hope at this point that new levels don't feature any older pokemon otherwise it's gonna get stale real fast. I'll do oak's lab, thanks!

  133. I have a bug report.
My brother and I are playing on the same computer with different profiles, and I have completed both of the "My Achievements" challenges. My brother's profile says he has completed both of them also even though he hasn't. He defeated a Starmie and tried to get his reward, but it said he could not because "You have not meet (met*) the achievement requirements or you have already claimed this reward." Even though both of the challenges said he had everything.

    ReplyDelete
  134. BUG

I killed a Starmie in Cearulean Gym and claimed my shiny Staryu. On my other profile I haven't killed a Starmie but it says I have because I did on my first one. Please fix.

  135. Play tower defense games is now updated. :D

    ReplyDelete
  136. Hm...some of my comments aren't getting posted. I ended up getting a Zubat on MM2, but no geodude. Been mining Oak's lab for Rattata...

    ReplyDelete
  137. Note to self: Don't evolve my shiny Staryu until the glitch(es) concerning Starmie has/have been settled.

  138. hey sam people might think im a hacker but im not. Actually asked my friends in FB (about a 150 friends play your game, man u r famous) and they dont like what u r doing. most of them are complaining about that you will have to be online to save( i dont like it either because i play this on my laptop and i dont usually have time to play at home. i just save when im online, but i play off line). some of my friends say that without hacks the game will be boring( i dont agree with them). i think they say that because most of them dont have that much time to play ( like me, but i dont hack) so they use hacks to keep up. i think you might loose some people with that new security stuff. but dont worry you will never loose me because as my nickname says im "a true fan"( actually you might loose me if you do something REALLY stupid like making this game P2P but you havent done that yet so im happy)

Be carefull because i think your security plan might backfire and it will make you loose lots of players.

  139. I beat Starmie, but I can't get the shiny staryu. What?

    ReplyDelete
  140. Sam Idk if you implemented the autosave feature yet but if you have...Thank you so much. If not It was pure luck. My computer crashed and I was in the middle of the game and when it booted back it loaded all of my stats, etc. that I had when I was playing the game

    ReplyDelete
  141. "a true fan" why don't you call yourself "a true hacker"?, obviously you don't agree the online save cause you know it will finish off most of the hack & traps that player usually use on the game (but unfortunetly not all because there are always people that discovers how to hack "unhackable" games).

Unless these game become a pay game, i won't leave it because it's amazing!!!

    ReplyDelete
  142. hey sam i gotta say i grew out of pokemon years ago. so now its safe to say i think its stupid (not tryin to insult anyone who likes it). despite my feelings for pokemon i love tower defense games and you got yourself a golden one. i dont know how you did it but you got me addicted to a pokemon game

    ReplyDelete
  143. I like the way you are putting together the mystery gift hunts. They are a lot more fun when you are getting an onix or a staryu. Great Job! (I have a feeling next week is shellder!)

    ReplyDelete
  144. I love this game so much no matter what you do even make it pay to play I'm still in!

    ReplyDelete
  145. You should make a mystery gift hunt in which if we win we get a shellder or a slowpoke or something. And to get the shiny version we have to beat Route 5 without losing any candy.

    ReplyDelete
  146. SAM I think you should send the next update to Bubblebox because they are still on verision 2.9.1 and it insanly popular there.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Sam, I just noticed a error in Pewter Gym. When the Rockets show Brock the Pokeballs they stole, there are seven of them, but after Mewtwo comes in, there's only six.

Where did the seventh Pokeball go?

    ReplyDelete
  148. @Sam
    A couple comments/questions/suggestions
    1) An idea for the HM Cut is that when on a level with bushes or tall grass you use cut on that bush/grass to reveal a TM or if eggs are implemented then use an egg or use that to implement eggs but once you do it once you can't do it again
    2) Do you think that next FRI-Sun an update will come out
    3) YOUR GAME IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Hey Sam I have a question about Classic mode. I read through the comments on the last post and didn't find an answer to this though some people asking the same, so do you think you could clarify in your next blog post?

The question is will you get more reward/unlocks for playing Normal mode vs Classic(Easy mode)? Lots of games have things that are locked on the easiest difficulties forcing you to play the harder ones to unlock better items and such so just curious if you'll be implementing that.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Sam i just had the suggestion of possibly adding a list of all catchable or obtainable pokemon so far in the game just so we can know our progress on catching them all.

    ReplyDelete
  151. great job sam i have a idea what about when you capture a new pokemon or your evolves, like a pokedex why dont you put a lil info text about the pokemon i know people would love to know about them
    i hope i help

  152. when does staryu evolve mine is lv.40 and hasn't evolved

    ReplyDelete
  153. just asking but when you have fixed all the hack ways what are you going to do about the hackers themselves and what if you got pokemon from a hacker will it be gone?

    ReplyDelete
  154. For all those people who talk about how Sam will run out of pokemon understand that in the games Staryu, Shellder, and other water pokemon can be obtained in these areas through fishing and surfing. Although Sam should release these moves and items through a challenge level or something. (Like if we can stop multiple lv. 36 Onix's with certain pokemon that are weak we get a better rod or surf). Just wanted to state that Staryu and Shellder ARE obtainable in the area we are in!

Ovamiat you are a good observer :-) you may assume the seventh pokeball was stolen by mewtwo for its own use or whatsoever :D

  160. hello sam i have a suggestion for the nw pokeballs when u get to it. you could put the pokeball selection in the menu under the damage text and between the exit and back buttons

    ReplyDelete
  161. hey samwith the new trade center will i still be able to juggle pokemon back and forth between profiles because i have i guess what you would call a main account but since its a red version i still need to find shinies exclusive to blue. so i put some of my best pokemon on my second profile. will i be able to get those back to my main account or am i just screwed.

  162. anonymous at 6:35 staryu evolves into starmie with a water stone.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but it would be alot easier to read if the levels on the pokemon were in black instead of white
