v6.0.1 is out! We are getting close to the end of PTD 1 Story Mode! To put things into perspective here is what is left to do:
  • Two more gym then we head to the elite 4 and face off with Mewthree and his mind slaves.
  • 8 New moves need to be added for all the pokemon to have their level up moves.
  • 6 Pokemon that you can't catch yet in the game: Electabuzz, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo and Mew.
In the game right now we have:
  • 32 Story Levels - 6 gym badges
  • 400+ different moves
  • 145 pokemon that you can catch
That is how close we are! Now keep in mind that there are over 600+ moves in all 5 generations combined so there isn't much left to add move wise if I were to make the sequels. Now you might be wondering things like when is the sequel coming out? or is anpo going to be made?, or just what the heck is this anpo thing? Well I've got answers!

To be honest the sequel hasn't been started yet, starting this week I will post some progress for PTD 2 along with discussions about the changes that I want for the game and also adding polls for you guys to decide some things too. But before I get into that let's talk about what is coming this week for PTD 1.

If you have beaten the Cinnabar Island level you will know that the Gym battle against Blaine is next! Just like other Gym battles you can expect a challenge and some unique twist that will hopefully match the theme of the gym and his pokemon. How this gym will play out is something I will figure out during this week and by the weekend we will have a new story level!

Other than the story level, I will include more TMs that are not yet implemented in the game along with any small bug fixes here and there that I can find.

For PTD 2 I will take a lot of the same code from PTD 1 so it won't take 5 months to build like PTD 1 originally did but I will be making a lot of changes. A good number of them come from request that you guys have made! So the first thing to do in PTD 2 is something that many of you have requested or indirectly requested and that is a PRELOADER! Yes! Finally! I know... PTD 2 progress will be slow and steady but I will share a small list of a few changes and ideas I have for PTD 2:
  • Preloader! (No more "all I see is a white square" emails!)
  • Faster logging in - The game will only initially load your current party only to speed up logging in. The rest of your pokemon will now be accessed on a different screen and that will load the rest of your pokemon by boxes.
  • Box system - Similar to how the game is you will store and load pokemon by boxes and you can sort by box rather than having a long list of pokemon to handle.
  • Buff and Debuffs stay on - When you move your pokemon from one spot to another it will no longer lose any of it's buffs or debuffs or statuses.
  • Buffs and Debuffs Stack and stay on forever - Just like the game debuffs and buffs will now stack up to 6 times and they will last until removed or the pokemon faints.
  • Day and Night levels - I'm not sure exactly how I will handle this, there are two options to pull this off.
    • One is having two levels for each area, one during the day and one at night.
    • Two is having a global clock for when you play and the levels adjust to that clock.
      • While you play a level the time would be changing and it would get darker.
      • The time would not be in real time, a whole day might pass in 30 minutes.
      • This is not based on time zones but the time that you spend in the game.
    I put a poll up so I can see what you guys think about it!
  • Genders and Breeding - Pokemon will now have genders and you can breed pokemon using similar rules to the real game. The breeding part will probably be in the pokemon center, but hatching the eggs will most likely be in the game itself. You would put the egg on a spot, some eggs require more time on a spot to hatch than others.
  • The Power of Badges - Something that I missed for PTD 1 which is your pokemon will only obey you if you have the proper badge, otherwise they will fall asleep. (This would only apply to traded pokemon)
  • Transferring your old Pokemon from PTD 1 to PTD 2 - I'm still not 100% sure at what point in the game I will allow for trading your pokemon, but what I'm thinking is that you need to get to a certain point in the game before this is allowed. Also the "power of the badges" point prevents people from just bringing level 100 pokemon and beating the game easily.
  • Holding items - Your pokemon will be able to hold berries and different items that will enable them to use them in levels just like the real game.
  • Improved Trading Center - The trading center works right now but a lot of things are very tedious to do. Especially if you are trading a lot of pokemon. The plan is to continue to update the trading center to make it more user friendly and streamlined.
  • Improved Multiplayer - Multiplayer right now is slacking, this is something that I want to improve drastically in the sequel.
This is but a small preview of the improvements I have in mind for the sequel. Now let's talk about Creatures Online Universe aka Project ANPO.

As many of you might know the reason I started programming to begin with was so I could make an online creature game. The world of pokemon was something that I thought was great and it really inspired me to learn programming and find ways to create games. 10 years later here we are and I'm getting closer and closer to finally being able to make this game. Now pokemon is a fine game as it is now but there are a lot of things that I think could be improved. I think they focused a lot of the battling and balancing out the different pokemon for battle and that's is great but the real reason I like pokemon is for discovering the pokemon and I loved watching the show because I could see almost how these pokemon lived in their habitats and how they interacted with each other (something that the show got away from in the later seasons) So the game I want to make is more about that. About going out and exploring and finding new creatures. Rather than just focusing everything on battling. I like battling but when a diglett can use Aerial Ace then it ruins the illusion for me. I liked it when each creature had it's own unique move or something to make them stand out. Details like these are the kinds of things I'm aiming for this game. Does this sound like something you would want to play?

Now you might be wondering what about Hero Tower Defense!? Well Hero Tower Defense has really great art and really great art requires time and motivation is part of the artist. We recently got another artist for HTD that will be working part time so that will help a bit. Once PTD 1 is finished I will spend more time working on HTD while working on PTD 2 and some ANPO on the side. I think a lot of you will want me to work less on HTD but HTD is something that will help us grow and since it's original we can take it to the mobile devices and not worry about it getting shut down.

      it is better then pokemon in my opinion and I think you can learn a lot and get a lot of ideas from that game. I'm serious .

      Do u remember the challenge levels??? when are u going to release more challenge levels???

      Long time ago, I got an idea about a challenge level based on a both attack and defence level; you were provided with six shiny lvl 1 pokemon and the objective was both defend the candies in your path and gather the candies in your rival's path

      Both paths will be attacked by increasing difficulty waves of wild pokemon, that would provide you with energy to attack the enemy path and money to upgrade your towers.

      Your rival can attack your path and your towers with his own pokemon, and u can also do the same, just by dragging your pokemon in a red tile at the beggining of his path and selecing a offensive move (to avoid towers faint too fast, if u select moves with 60 power or more, your pokemon won't attact enemy towers).

      If an attacker pokemon faints (no matter if it's from your team or from rival's team), the defender team will receive extra money and energy, but if a tower faints (no matter if it's from your team or from rival's team) it will be no longer possible to use that pokemon as tower os as attacker.

      Every time a candy is grabbed from one path, it's put on the other path; there are 6 candies per path and u win if u get at least 10 candies at the end of the level, or make all enemy towers faint. However, if all your candies are removed from your path, or u get 9 or less candies at the end of the level, or all your towers faint, you'll lose

    4. Almost none know about Jade Coccoon, unfortunatly... Cause it was a GREAT game, I could only get access to a demo that I played for hours and hours till I had to shut down the PS (without saving... demo... lol) and then once in a while return =P look it up Sam and whoever can ;)

    5. Yo Sam some great stuff here.
      I love that you are wanting to do your own game. I love pokemon for everything it is, and I wouldnt change a thing, but that doesnt mean I dont appreciate other, similar games.

      My question to you is what are your thoughts about the game format? For instance Pokemon is interesting in that it is adventuring and then battles are stand-still events. Are you thinking something similar or different? More real-time or less?

      Judging by your interests and what you said in your post, I think a greater focus on great number of monsters, as well as limited party/storage space might do the trick. To me whenever I replay a pokemon game or even PTD it is to use a different team and to some effect "come closer" to the pokemon I use during a given play through. Just think of the affinity that people have towards starter pokemon. Holy hell there has never been a better marketing hook.

      Your idea of ANPO is great. That is exactly how I feel. The reason I don't even bother to level up some pokemon like exeggcute, rhyhorn, ponyta, etc. is because they don't have their own unique (AND effective!) moves. You really only need to level up like 10 pokemon MAX to get every move in the game.. And with electric, well, you can pick any 1 electric pokemon and they can learn all the moves that every other one can learn... :/

      So, yes, I would play it. And buy it on my Android.

Wouldn't require any special moves being programmed in, it'd make a great Mystery Gift since we're nearly out of stuff to put in, and most of all, I would be eternally grateful. Eternally.       I was thinking the best bet be to beat the level without losing candy and it flies away but you find a baby one like with Aerodactyl? or maybe implement your Egg idea and find eggs and when they hatch its a baby Zapdos,Moltres, Articuno

    5. Seeing as you might not integrate egg hatching before the end of the game, maybe it could be received in PTD2 and be special as in being shiny or a rare egg move. Something like that that would motivate people to play the prequel.

  9. I think trading should be allowed when you get into Ecruteak city (4th badge) because if im not mistaken in the real game you meet some guy here and he says your allowed to trade, I cant remember.

    2. in G/S/C bill has to fix the Time Capsule before you can get Pokemon from R/B/Y.
      it is on the 2nd floor of each Poke Center, but until bill fixes it (Basically when you meet him in Ecruteak) it cant be used.

    1. I learn most of it on my own actually, the knowledge is out there for you to find it on the internet. As for college I'm getting a Computer Science Degree right now which teaches you how to program. But I really think that if you have a passion for it you don't have to wait until College or until a teacher teaches you for you to learn.

  11. Sam, I think there are some other Pokemon that aren't "catchable". Well, at least I'm pretty sure magnemite isn't. I just mean to say that so there won't be any overlooked pokemon that can be caught when the story is finished.

    3. the uncatchable pokemon thus far in the game are as follows:
      *Tangela normally found on route 21

      *Magnemite normally found on route 10 and the power plant

      *Seel normally catchable in seafoam island

      *Lickitung normally a trade pokemon on route 18 or inside Cerulean Cave in yellow

      *Farfetched is also catchable in yellow on route 12 & 13

      *Electrabuzz in the power plant

      and the rest are the legendary pokemon Articuno (seafoam) Zapdos (power plant) Moltres (Victory Road) Mewtwo (Cerulean Cave) Mew (normally event or bugged) and Missigno if you consider it a pokemon, which I personally do ^^

  12. I think the story line would benefit us if zapados takes gary to the power plant where we are able to catch our first bird because lets face it there are only 6 pokemon left and power plant will have electrabuzz we will have the birds, mew, and mewtwo so why not let us have zapados.

    I thought that maybe the level would have us fight zapados like last time except that instead of using thunder waves are sent out ending in a blue bar electrabuzz and on wave 20 or whenever he'll be weak enough for us to capture

    I know we just reached cinnabar but I just want you to be thinkimg about it and maybe give me a thumbs up or down on my idea or email me what you think about it at tomsportsfan@yahoo.com

  13. Some suggestions:

    1) I don't like the idea of falling asleep but I have thought about this for about a week now that in PTD2, traded Pokemon (from another player and from PTD1) will disobey (50% or more drop on accuracy) if its level is above your badge's level cap. The Pokemon caught in the game will still obey if they are above the badge's level cap. Trading can only be done after getting Zephyrbadge from Falkner (some story is needed on Prof Elm or someone introducing Pokemon transfer/trade.

    2) Long time ago you wanted to make an achievement after beating the Team Rocket's hideout....

    3) Can we have a more specific search for trading... We can search for people who offers the Pokemon we want AND wants the Pokemon we offer, so we can narrow down people. [is this already implemented??]

    4) Some moves might need a better graphic. I don't mind what we got now but when you got time, perhaps rework some move to look like in Black&White or in Mystery dungeon

    1. 1) I think in the original game they would fall asleep or get confused I forgot and yeah sometimes they would do your move but rarely.

      2) Time passed and I never did it, don't think I will add it a this point

      4) This is pretty hard but I am in talks with somebody that might update the moves a little bit at a time.

    2. When a Pokemon disobeys, it will either perform another move or not do anything. So I think 50% accuracy drop would be a good representation of not doing anything.

  14. is there an easy way to move your pokemon around in your inventory when your choosing the pokemon for battle, I have a bunch of the same pokemon all over the place and when I try to move them to another page they just go to a completely different page. can you fix this?

  16. Do you plan on doing a Tower Defense for every Generation? If you do I bet you will get a lot of fans :).

    And if you do I take it by the time we get to Diamond/Pearl the graphics will be amazing since those are on DS ? :)or maybe you can do PTD2 purely based off the levels on Heart Gold/ Soul Silver that way PTD2 looks great

    clock by yourself, because we live in different time zones. for example i am from europe and
    there are about 6 hours time difference to the usa. hope you think about this.

    Haven't u realize there's a nonsense beat the cinnbar island level without losing a candy in order to get a common aerodactyl if u can get as many of these pokemon as u want simply by tipping a weekly mystery gift code???

    Could u please put an special aerodactyl in the cinnbar island, like a shiny one???

    and... other question... haven't u realized that the attack heal pulse (chansey) also heals enemy pokemon??? (try to use that attack for example in cinnbar island or in route 17)

  24. Hey Sam loving the thought of apno and PTD2 I was wondering if you'd consider adding a hours played achievement for it we spend a hell of a lot of time grinding after all and would be awesome to be rewarded for it

    Also with trading how about not being able to trade poke below what level your badge allows

  25. I like how you've been answering most all of the questions xD

    Anyways PLEASE add battling to PTD2, as in online/offline battling like in the other games, that would be incredible. Also I think it's too easy to catch pokemon on PTD1, you know, you could get 20 pokemon in a level easily. And the achievements, please don't make anymore that give you shinies/shadows, it decreases the value of them very badly then no one wants them :/

    1 Last thing, for Multiplayer it would be awesome if you could let us make private room type things, and use our own pokemon and/or movesets.

    Sidenote : I miss the polls on the mystery gift pokemon, it would be nice if you started using those again in PTD2 and maybe have about 5 options or so.

  26. I'm getting so frustrated with the Fushia Gym story level because it's so difficult and it taking so long to beat...!!

    Is there a specific way(a strategy)for beating the Fushia Gym story level?

    I'm just so curious because after that, I hit the safari zone and much more great stuff...If only I could beat the Fushia Gym...

  27. I'll make it into topics so I forget less stuff and it becomes shorter LOL

    1- I know people are getting all exited about PTD 2 and the legendary and so on but please don't rush the last lvls. Make the end of the game as epic as it deserves, not just a some more lvls between the ones already there and ptd 2 ;) (I don't think you want that, its just so you don't get carried on by all the new and cool stuff =P)

    2- To be fair move wise its the least important, if they get done the better, then more time to work on the lvls and enhance the attack graffics =P

    3- I have to ask... any ideas for the pokemon from the orange islands? (like crystal onix, etc) maybe weekly gifts for PTD2?

    4- PTD2 (1) - Not sure if a box system will help (expect for the loading part ofc), and won't that limit the amount of pokemon we can have, or you already go that covered? ;)

    5- PTD2 (2) - Time lapse should be awesome =D I think not as a 24h but also not as short as 30 min, like an 8h thing or so. besides pokemon like Ledyba, only show at the morning so we need a time for that right? (doesn't need a different lvl then day, just a different wave at certain times (or a layer mask on the day screen LOL))

    6- PTD2 (3) - Genders will have sexual dimorphism or just the gender?

    7- PTD2 (4) - Big YEEEEEE!!! for all the rest =P

    8- Anpo feedback - dunno if you read the HTD posts but I'm always battling for pets, and pet looks and pet mechanics etc (when its the time and place for it ofc lol). I'm all pets myself, I've probably played all pet games on fb, most pokemon, a lot of pokemon like for most supports, from the one refered before Jade Coccoon on ps1 to some from android market, till some tamagochi like LOL and specially in real life =P (I'm a Biologist (well almost done =P) and have bred mice, and had the smallest species of rodents, have snakes (wich is really strange back in europe lol) and axolotl, etc =P so yeah, put pets on and you got me in the game ;)

    9- Anpo+HTD - since they're both original and SnD's why not some crossovers with pets once in a while? ;) Some exclusive for those that also play the other game to tease people from one to the other =P just saying ;)

    10- Challenge - Answer all topics + the "ps" XD ahaha

    ps: I had some suggestions on Kevin's blog (most recent post) for HTD that can fit the other game aswell (or even better since hasn't had a start even =P)

  28. 2 Things, 1. By improving the trade center I hope that one of those improvements will let you add pokemon for trade faster, like more at a time since you have to load a page every time you do something.

    2. is ANPO going to be like a flash game, a game you have to download, or what? and will you release it like you did PTD? (Early, with alot of bugs and stuff so you can see how we like it as you go along), and will it be like a community game with online/trading?

    I would appreciate it greatly if you answered all of these questions.

  29. I'm so excited with all the new stuff PTD2 is setting up to offer! With the new day and night system(I'm curious to see what PTD would like at night!), the new boxes, the new gender + breeding, and the new Pokemon!

    The only thing that I want that I heard might come is new stats for the Pokemon. Hopefully we can see a name, a type, much more, and hopefully these stats will be visible during the actual levels!

  33. Thanks for the update Sam. I have an idea for the Pokemon transfer: have it be like in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen where you couldn't get access to your box Pokemon while you were on the Sevii Islands until you got two specific key items. You could have a plot element that prohibits you from getting your Kanto Pokemon until a later point in the game. ANPO seems pretty interesting too.

    I'm both happy and a bit disappointed with this update however. While I thought it was a challenge to beat Cinnabar Island without losing any candy to get your Aerodactyl, the sight of Aerodactly being the Mystery Gift kind of disheartened me for two reasons: 1. I put a lot of effort into getting the Aerodactyl via not losing rare candies and 2. After seeing that you had to pick Omanyte or Kabuto, I figured you'd do something like with Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan where you get the shiny version of the Pokemon you didn't pick via an achievement or challenge. When I saw that Aerodactyl was the prize for clearing Cinnabar without losing any candy, I thought that the Mystery Gift would be a Shiny Omanyte/Kabuto (though I guess that was silly of me to presume that). I'd appreciate it if you could do something like the shiny Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan for Kabuto/Omanyte.

  35. I think you should have Jigglypuff (the one from the anime that always scribbled on peoples faces when they fell asleep to her song) make an appearance in one of the levels before PTD2. I know she wasn't in the games, but she was really prevalent in the first few seasons of the anime and I really liked her as a kid, as I'm sure a lot of others did. :)

  39. Sam I would like to know if also omanyte and kabuto will be mistery gifts because if yes I don't trade for them. I would like to know also if you can do something like a challenge level to have shiny kabuto and shiny omanyte (or achievement like for hitmonchan and hitmonlee). The legends will be catchables so I don't see the reason why omaynte, aerodactyl and kabuto can't be catched in the shiny sprite

  40. I believe you should have mew as the next mystery gift as he is uncatchable(other than the red and blue glitch which is obviously impossible on here since it's level based rather than scrolling texture). Tho it is just my opinion.

  41. I am really excited about ANPO. In my old forum there was this idea about making a game similar to Pokemon, just with all the mystical creatures out of horror-stories, legends and myths. I found that idea really fascinating. Searching after Nessi, Bigfoot or Slenderman, trying to get them to join you would be really awesome. Sadly no-one ever made anything out of that idea. Perhaps you can take a bit of inspiration out of this, Sam.

  42. Cinnabar Gym should have lava overflowing the battlefield once a while, and any pokemon that is not Fire-type touching it will faint. Plus Mew should be caught before the final level and required to beat Mewthree.

  45. Sam, I think there might be a problem with rare daily gift. I beat the new level, and have over 100k poke dollars, but when I went to buy the gift, it said I wasn't eligible for it. That also counted as my daily gift for the day.

  46. I agree that the trading from PTD 1 to PTD 2 should be implemented in Ecruteak City. In the games, You meet Bill when you first enter the Pokemon Center in Ecruteak City. He says he has perfected the time machine, and you can trade with the past. The only catch is that you have to wait until the next day to actually use it, so for PTD 2 you can have the encounter in the level intro, and you can't trade with PTD 1 until you beat that level.

  47. A clock for day and night isn't a good idea. I won't be the only one who can't stay up late.

    Even during the day I have work to do so if night starts at 6, I'll actually miss out on daytime.

    2 separate levels means we can play the level anytime we want.

      With a global clock, all you have to do is play it for a little bit and it gets dark, then it goes to the day again. (I would think)...

      Plus you can play it on the weekends if you need time!

    2. The clock is based around how much you play, it's not based on real time.
      So let's say day last an hour. If you play an hour the game will change to night. Then after you play another hour it will go back to day.

  48. For PTD 2 can you think about:

    1) Not bringing PTD 1 Pokemon over until we've beaten the elite 4, 6 level 100s and we'll beat the game in no time, the challenge will be gone!

    2) More challenge levels - getting the Pokedex was great fun in PTD 1

    3) Only shadow Pokemon as mystery gifts and all normal Pokemon available without gifts (my lickitung randomly vanished!)

  55. Great ideas! I'm looking forward to play PTD 2, because Crystal is my favorite version. Great link with the egg thing you mentioned earlier too.

    Sam, something that I miss, and I guess would be really hard to implement on PTD 1, so you could think about it on the 2nd Version is a nicer pokédex. Not only a list, but something you can click on and see the pokémon dex image, not only their sprites.

    Also, I guess every game has some way of importing pokémons from earlier versions. I think you should stick to this. That is what I've found: http://serebii.net/gs/timecapsule.shtml#gen1

    And since I've mentioned Crystal... How would you feel like making an Yellow version with most everything that the other versions have but some extra details? I think this will give you more time to work on the other projects while we are busy playing yellow.

  56. I agree, ANPO sounds great. And I know what you mean about ruining the illusion. I always found it weird in Pokemon to see Pokemon like Goldeen and Gyarados fighting on dry land. I must admit, I haven't actually played HTD, but I have two accounts for PTD, so I guess that makes up for it lol. Looking forward to whatever you have planned for the future.   58. Hey Sam! Currently we can only get Magmar in Blue version, while in Red version we get nothing! Do you have any plans to balance this somehow? I would suggest making Electrobuz available only in Red version for example..
    Also about the legendary birds, I would suggest to have an option when you beat the level, so you can only chose one of the three and since we are able to use up to three games per account, we could get all the birds, simply by playing the game and beating it three times..! I know you already have your own ideas, I'm just suggesting mine as well!
    Finally, would it be possible to get a "log off" button at the main screen and at the trade center?

  60. hears my thoughts on night and day and trading from game to game first night and day i think there should be different Pokemon that should show up at night just like in HG and SS and it should run on real time so like after 5 o clock nocturnal pokes show up. for trading you should make it sow we can trade are level 100s to PTD 2 but we cant use them UN tell we have all 8 gym badges like this we cant use level 20s tell we get are first gym badge and level 30s UN tell 2nd gym badge etc. like this we cant use level 60s UN tell we have are 5th johto badge.

  63. Sam, about the "power of badges", the level cap should be higher than the level of the badge so disobeying trainers could be made possible.

    How about headbutting trees? I know heracross, aipom, pineco and others are only found on trees.

    Same for rock smash. (shuckle)

    A required move to find other pokemon (wobbufet and dunsparce in dark cave i think) (needs rock smash, wobbufet in another part of dark cave)

    I don't think apricorns would work here.

  64. Go PTD!

    I have a couple of suggestions, one is bringing in Level 100 Pokemon. Sam, maybe you can change them back to level 1 but keep the level cap so that is one less thing to worry about. I know people would think that it would just be a waste of all their training but that training was for a whole different world. Besides, lots of people like to have a fun challenge and not beat all the levels within a couple of minutes.

    My second suggestion is about the transferring Pokemon from PTD 1. You can make it so that when PTD 1 is over and begin to make PTD 2, we can all access the Pokemon Center, type our account name and password then click a button that says "Transport Pokemon" or something like that. Afterwards, make all the Pokemon Level 1.

    A lot of stuff is done already so PTD 2 will be a lot faster than PTD 1. Can't wait for the arrival of it!!!

  65. Sam can you raise the lvl cap by a bit. Just to 91 is ok. Because I caught a shiny ponyta and shiny grimer in cinnabar but I can't level them up because they were too high a level at level 90.

  69. I'm probably gonna make you feel stupid, but I have some simple solutions.

    DAY/NIGHT!

    Instead of the complication of using our computer time, why don't we have a little page in the game popping up after you click play or something that allows you to set your time there, which can be changed in the options. You can decide when each time starts, theres 3 phases.

    TRANSFERS!

    You have uber haxor level pokemon in the old game, right? Well, counter it with this: After you beat certain levels in the game, the transfer level cap rises, allowing higher leveled pokemon to be transferred at the right time.

    MULTIPLAYER ADVANCES!

    This was requested multiple times, but there should be multiple pokemon stadium levels, with an easy for attackers then harder for attackers. The difference is more turns in hard whereas the road is straight in easy. Candy amounts included to. The recommended part: Our own pokemon, or it's not so stadium like, now is it?

  72. i would say that you should make a day past in on hour as that is sorta simpler

    but besides that, you should implend eggs in ptd2. you could make it like you get an egg after a certain point in the game (no breeding but still eggs). you could then make it that one eggstep is one second in battle, or something more balanced. out the egg comes a kanto-pokemon, like a random second starter. i think it would make a great addition, as a surprising add, especially in the beginning of the game.

  73. there seems to be an issue with the new level; if you focus all of your efforts on one of the paths, whether it be the weaker, non-attacking pokemon or the stronger, attacking ones, the other path's pokemon keep coming and coming, and if you didn't kill any of the bottom ones at first, it is nearly impossible to do so afterward. i don't know if this was intentional or not, but it certainly adds some inherent difficulty to the level. other than that, great addition to the game! i've been waiting for magmar for a while :)

Hi Sam, even though I voted for Day and Night in PTD2 to be according to a Global Clock, and think is ok to change levels dynamically, but with time running faster, what I mean that maybe in a real life day, there should be 2 or 3 days in PTD2 life, because sometimes I only play at nights and maybe is complicated to set a schedule under only 1 time zone, because I think if it could be dependant in your own local timezone could be complicated, and there is people in a whole different time zone, for example that is not a problem to me because I use Central time (-06:00) and the game I think is under Mountain time (-07:00) because at my 1:00 am I can get a new Daily Gift, but there is other people that plays in Europe with many hours in difference...

WOW this ANPO stuff sounds great!!!Also what 'bout makin' trades between games divided in tiers, like, if you're in Chapter 1 you can only trade the weakest pokemon, then on chapter 2 some more are added to your trading list, and so on. Also tiers would block trades between PTD 2 acc's, as someone very advanced could rent his Tier 1 friend a legendary or very strong pokemon, to help him out on a gym,as the "Badge Power" wouldn't prevent him from using it if it were a low-leveled-still-strong pokemon.Keep up the good work mate!!!

    I haven't posted in a while but I had some stuff to ask you.
    1.Do you plan on implementing the rest of the abilities into PTD 1?
    2.Are you going to rebalance the level progression in the game to more closely follow the original Pokemon games after you have finished PTD?
    3.Will you still do mystery gifts for PTD 1?
    4.Will you add any new achievement or challenge levels after PTD is completed?(I think this would be a nice thing to do because otherwise the end will be a sort of sad climax for trainers.)
    5.Could there perhaps be a challenge mode where you just switch up pokemon stats or something and you unlock something for beating it?
    6.Are you going to change any of the levels to make the game more linear such as implementing avatars right from the start rather than them abruptly being added a few levels in to the game?
    7.And lastly, did you finish implementing some of the changes to the trading center that you had planned to add a couple of weeks ago?

    Sorry for all the questions...I saved them up for a while.

  90. I had an idea about how to implement a catchable mewtwo and missingno. After you defeat mewthree, he faints and out comes missingno. Mewthree changes to Mewtwo as missingno had caused him to bug out.
