Just a short post this week while we continue to chug away at the next release which should be coming soon. Another benefit of the new graphics system is that it will allow us to more easily add additional playable races. Before it meant an exponential amount of more work when adding armor because of all the additional frames required for the new race. Now, since it's in 3D, it's just a little extra work fitting it to the model of the new race and then rendering out all the necessary frames accordingly.

So, what this means is we have a lot more flexibility with what sort of playable races we can put into the game since the workload is far less significant. This works out because we weren't going to have much focus on race wars and factions but rather on good and evil. In other words it'll be a common occurrence to see a mix of races working together on everything from daily tasks to fighting a common enemy.

This is where you guys come in. What are some races you would like to be able to chose from? Are you a fan of the tried and true trifecta of Human, Orc, and Elf? Are you more interested in an obscure race that you don't see so often such as Golems (like Kevin!)? Tell us what sort of races you'd like to be able to play as in the comments!

      human elf orc. race benefits human none they are well rounded and can learn multiple spells. elves are more adept in magic than melee attacks.orcs have more strength speed but cant learn magic

      They aren't really a race I guess but I'd like to see vampires.

      Also: werewolves, dwarves and maybe a robotic-ish race would be cool.

      goblins angels shadows flame golem multiple races of elf how has no one said dwarf and if ur adding lyncathrope they should be for quest gain so you can get a ability to turn into one (werewolf bear boar badger cheetah tiger platypus ext...)plus quests and gameplay should change a bit relevent to your race a human is more likely to ask for help from another person then a orc

      Good one Sam. I have 20 suggestion: Hobbits, Trolls, OriCai, Nazgul, Satyrs/Fauns, Draconairs (dragons shaped like a human), Dracons, Dragons, UnDead, Furriers, (Humans that can change into diferent animals at will), Vampires, Empousai (She-Demons), Wizards, Humans, Orcs, Elves, Gnomes, Golems, Mole-people, and Lykens.
      4 out of 11 of thouse come for the L.O.T.R movies/books (Lord Of The Rings) and one out of eleven come from the book the Hobbit.

      Honestly I think it would seem like something was missing if it didn't have humans, elves, and orcs, but there should be more obscure races. Like someone else said lycans would be nice, maybe shades/wraiths, golems do sound like they'd be fun. There aren't enough games with fish people are there Sam? Also maybe demons and some form of beast shaman that can become different types of animals in battle. The possibilities really are endless though.

      I would love to see creatures based on japanese mythology, and not just the ordinary elsf, orcs, trolls etc... Japanese mythology are so seldom represented in games, although it is So. Very. Facinating. They have a very wide assortment of creatures to choose from. If I was to pick only one, though, I would perhaps go for the kitsune, which freaquently appears in folklore as wise foxes. Also I think perhaps they are the easiest to adapt as a "race".

      Also I think whales are epic, although I see the problem to make a race out of them in the game.

      Maybe gods? They would be extremely easy to implement - two stats: omniscience and omnipotence. And I'm not joking. It could be either temporary, for example on april's fool day or whatever it is called in English, or as a reward for getting 100% completion once the game is finished.

      Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Definitely some interesting ones in here and it's nice to see what people favor. There certainly seems to be a good mix of traditional races and more obscure races which fits right in line with what we had in mind as well.
