Hey everyone! I hope you had/are having a good labor day weekend (in the states). I will keep this one pretty short and sweet.
Weekly Progress:
This week we will have a 1v1 level (Released now on v1.15), we finally reached the first gym! Fighting against the Pewter City Gym Leader Brock. Something special about gym fights is that you will get an increase reward for beating them. For one, once achievements are out you will get an achievement for beating the gym and it will include a reward for your story mode profile. Also you will get more coins than usual, I haven't decided the exact amount. I was thinking either having a high flat amount, or a flat amount plus refunding whatever you spent, or a flat amount plus another amount or whatever you spent, whichever is lowest. I'm still working out the exact details but just know that beating the gym will boost up your coin amount since it is a pretty good place to reach. Also it will unlock either all the starters or just one I also haven't decided and I might put a pool up to see which starter should be out.
On the story side of things I'm working towards level two which will have you getting your first starter pokemon. (Released now on v1.16) Last week I did a lot of the infrastructure for saving and creating maps and such. The more of that that I do the easier it will be to make new levels. I have redone a lot of the saving code to make it faster more efficient plus in PTD 2 story mode you have a map so I also have to keep track of where you are and things like what quest have you completed and what not. Before I would just keep track of level attempted and level completed. With this game things are more complicated so there is a lot more time spent building these extra things. I believe it will be worth it in the end since both PTD2 and Creature Universe will gain much from this.
So that is what I'm trying to accomplish this week, below is the actual list that I will keep updating by completing and adding new things.
Alpha v1.16 Progress List: Released Now!

ReplyDeleteCan't Wait! Keep it Up sam!
ReplyDeleteAnd when will ptd Pokemon be able to evolve into Different gens?
2nd I hope :P
ReplyDeletefourth lol great job mispelled poll
ReplyDeleteI love where this game is going, Sam. You value the gamers that keep your game going and you respect their opinions while at the same time following your own gut instinct and doing what is best for yourself and your team. You maintain a balance that I have rarely ever seen before in a developer, and I wish you the best of luck in bringing out your incredible potential as a programmer and as an amazingly creative and bright individual.
ReplyDeleteRattata work well on Pikachu and Weedle (ability: Guts) and Spearow or Pidgey work well against Pidegotto (ability: Keen Eye). Just switch attacks a lot so you get the most amount of damage in. Don't worrk about spending a lot of money because once you beat the level you will unlock Pokemon like Diglett who will make beating the level much easier in the future.
ReplyDeleteI think beating the Gym battle should be like a checkpoint. Once you beat it you can come back to that point later. It would help decrease the repetetiveness without giving an unfair advantage because you usually MAKE money playing all the levels, so skipping ahead would not save you any money.
ReplyDeleteHi Sam! I am posting this message because I don't thin you saw my e-mail yet. There is a mistake in the map boundaries in PTD2. It is the bottom part of Prof. Oak's lab. You can walk into the black part. Hope you see this message and fix the boundary.
ReplyDelete+1
ReplyDelete11th...i think
ReplyDeleteJust so you know, where it's written:
ReplyDelete"NPC Characters for first level (50%)- Prof and other people that live in New Bark Town"
it means Sam has done only Prof. Oak and has to do the others yet. : )
13th! new record!
ReplyDeletewho plays minecraft!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteim first
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't pertain to this.
ReplyDeleteHow do beat the geodudes in level 6 ?
ReplyDeletei left you a email it would mean alot if you read it
ReplyDeleteSam, will you allow someone to make a translated version for japan? That is where Pokemon originated after all, so this game will gain much more popularity with a Japanese PTD.
ReplyDeleteonce you can transfer it and give it the correct item or whatever it needs
ReplyDeleteAww you're making me blush, seriously though thanks :)
ReplyDeletethanks I'll check it out
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty impossible for me to translate PTD, even if somebody else did the translation adding it to the game would take a huge chunk of time that I don't have
ReplyDeleteSam I like this game and were it is going also one more thing.......... TYPHLOSION WILL BE AWESOME I LOVE HIM HE IS MY FAVORITE POKEMON OF ALL TIME ALL SHALL FALL TO THE QUICK CLAW OF MY TTYPHLOSION BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...... sorry
ReplyDeleteY when I return my Pokemon it's stats changes are not removed it should be removed
ReplyDeleteim sure its prof elm actually... just saying..
ReplyDeletesam i think you should take out camcam.he says the f word
ReplyDeletehello, i cant beat the latest lvl, the old ranger one
ReplyDeletehis geodudes are too strong
I already tried many different formations, but just simply cant beat him
thanks
why copy? why not being Prof. Oak all the games. this is NOT pokemon gold/silver. this is Pokemon Tower Defense!
ReplyDeleteyou may let japanese people translate it.
ReplyDeleteYou just need to buy 1 geodude and 6 potions. beat all levels and... when you reach level 6 use use rock polish until +6 speed, and defense curl until +6 defense, then just Tackle... and use your potions wisely
ReplyDeleteSam! I just had this idea now, you ask us to say whe we think at.... I just just thinking waht could that game have to be diferent of the other, and... something more valious than shiny or shadow pokemon because noe they're common, I thought in PokeRus! Im not expecting nothing from what I said. but just be original and... you you will do PokeRus, Identify those pokemon. because the are valious! Just... think on it
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion I'll keep it in mind :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a broken link on the 'Game Download Link' tab. This is what it says and what link is broken: "Play here on the blog! http://samdangames.blogspot.com/p/play-ptd_03.html"
ReplyDeleteThis would certainly help in that you could play up to a certain gym, save and go eat dinner or whatever else is going on in your life, and then come back to it and continue. If the checkpoint idea is implemented, I'd actually prefer that it just saves your progress (i.e. pokemon youve leveled, items bought, etc...), and if you die you still go back to beginning. That way, you wont have to set aside a huge block of time to beat all 100 levels and can do it in sections, increasing playability. I don't like the idea of just starting point blank at the checkpoint with nothing, as it would probably be impossible to beat without pokemon you have leveled up in previous levels. Basically, making a save progress feature, as opposed to the current saving feature that only saves money.
ReplyDeleteit's not just the translation, it's replacing the original text with the new text in the games code, something that probably only sam can do. And he's busy with ptd2.
ReplyDeleteThought I'd post again about my idea for a "buy random pokemon" button in 1v1. It'd be awesome. Like doing a nuzlocke, but instead of catching the first pokemon you run into on a route, you press buy random pokemon every one or 2 levels.
ReplyDeleteWhy not put ALL THE POKEMON PROFESSORS?!?!?! http://www.myfacewhen.net/uploads/3578-all-the-things.jpg
ReplyDeleteYou are talking about the story mode. The story mode will do all these things you are requesting.
ReplyDeleteThe 1x1 is an arcade mode. When you play street fighter on the arcade and your mom calls you back, I'm sorry, but you will have to start over tomorrow.
One butterfree beats whatever is in its way (up to the 2.14).
ReplyDeleteUnlocking the butterfree is a problem though, on youtube there is one video showing one way to do it although it isn't the only one (more pokes and less potions ends up a bit cheaper, but you have to pay attention so that the pokes don't defeat the opponents to evolve the metapod as fast as possible).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X1z_I_cDMo
2 things Sam.
ReplyDelete1, you got Elm's lab wrong. I jus refferenced it on my HG.
2, it would be funny if for an Easter egg if up until election day in the States you make Brock's name Brock Obama and have a comment about his election campaign somewhere in there. Memes, just like Pokemon you gotta catch'em all!
1. Since I'm not using the graphics from HG the lab won't be perfect but good enough!
ReplyDelete2. Haha probably not but it's funny
Hey good catch! Fixed.
ReplyDeletethanks for the idea I'll keep it in mind
ReplyDeletei agree with lerenard
ReplyDeleteSam,
ReplyDeleteMake level 2 of story mode!IM DYING FOR IT PLZ MAKE IT!
Leech Seed (0%)Vine Whip (0%) New Abilities needed (0%)Chlorophyll (0%)
ReplyDeleteGrass Types?
B.U.L.B.A.S.A.U.R Yaaaayyyyy
ReplyDelete^_^ can't wait ^_^
Sam, I can't play 1v1 at the moment because it says "Suspected of Hacking"
ReplyDeletewhy am I suspected?
probobly bellsprout and/or oddish
ReplyDeleteHi, I personally think that tms should still cost money. If they didn't, then they would quickly become too accessible and overpowered. One may argue that this can be fixed by coin grinding, but then you would still have to take time to grind the coins needed for the wanted tms. A lowered price wouldn't be a bad idea, but having all of them free... just doesn't seem like it would work to me.
ReplyDeleteSo TMs will no longer cost money? THANK YOOOOU!!!!!
ReplyDeletei have a question are we going to be able to pick our gender on story mode?
ReplyDeleteSweet! I've just received my free minecraft giftcode!
ReplyDelete>> Minecraftcodes.info <<
Sam, suggestions: ... it really hard to come up with one... :'(
ReplyDeleteand u could make it only 8 coins instead of 10 so its cheaper to buy the random ones...
ReplyDeletesuper affective on brocks annoying onix
ReplyDeleteyes, you can do that right now actually
ReplyDeleteyup :) but you have to earn them through beating levels or achievements or paying for them once and then get them unlimited
ReplyDeleteYou have to gain them, or buy them but after that you get to use them unlimitedly
ReplyDeleteUsing cheat engine?
ReplyDelete:D
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how to get one or use one, it only happens for 1v1, story mode works fine
ReplyDeleteoh Dan, why aren't you a MOD?
ReplyDeleteAre we only allowed to use two rare candies ever, or does it re stock on a regular basis?
ReplyDeleteLeech Seed is a bit overpowered. You can defeat Onix and the 4 Geodudes in 1v1 only by using Leech Seed, calling back Bulbasaur, and putting it back when Leech Seed comes off.
ReplyDeleteA Spanish PTD fan
Brock is easy to beat anyway, it's only the first gym leader i've done that level using only butterfree's stringshot and confusion. It's fair, since it's the first boss, otherwise for the next bosses he have to increase the difficulty too much.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the same thing... it's two candies every time we start a game, right?
ReplyDeleteYeh i think brock was a bit easy. one high level geodude and potions. had 8 left over too.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same exact thing.
ReplyDeleteHey Sam,
ReplyDeletefor the story mode can you make it that you can move your character also with the mouse, like in the avatar chat. This would be awesome if you do so!!! I am so exited about PTD2. It will be great.
The second thing is about 1 vs 1 mode. can you make it so that you only have to start from the beginning, when you loose a battle. i remember that you said there will be about 100 levels in 1vs1 mode. it would be annoying to always start from the beginning. so let us save our progress until we get defeated!!!
i hope you consider this suggestions! Continue your awesome work!!!
Start from the beginning instead of start from the beginning? I didn't get it...
ReplyDeleteBrock is only the first gym leader, he HAVE to be easy!
ReplyDeleteLike HMs in PTD1.
ReplyDeleteErgo: it was easier when they costed 10000 coins, ehehe...
Yeah. Pity that you have to beat Brock first (relax, he's a piece of cake).
ReplyDeleteBy the way, it's Bulbasaur.
Pokérus in official pokémon games can spread to other team members (the near ones) so it would be rare at first but give him 2-3 days and it'll be more common than flu...
ReplyDeleteHe was trying to say that when you lose a level in 1v1 you have to start from level 1 again.Furthermore Sam said there will be like 100 levels once PTD2 is finished,so it would be annoying to start from the beginning again!Lastly Mr.PTD great suggestion I totally agree with you sam could you make Check points or something...
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say I'm having saving problems in 1v1 mode-I wait for like 10 mins when it says "saving..." but nothing happens!
ReplyDeleteIt happens sometimes... the server is busy 'cause this game is too awesome that everyone in the world wants to play it! You can:
ReplyDelete- Wait (it will save someday... time will tell);
- Restart (without saving, obviously).
Sam could make some checkpoints. maybe a checkpoint on each gym leader. That would be better
ReplyDeleteSo we have to think in make more valious and rare like a wild infected pokemon, is just infected for 48hours, and those are infected for contact cannot infect other pokemon, there hundreads of possibilities
ReplyDeleteHey Sam, I noticed that the "Tackle" text in the "Buy Pokémon" screen is littler than other ones... Not a real problem, just wanted to let you know...
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too
ReplyDeleteSam I have another idea, You could make the Breeding House,,,, or the training. anyway... it would awsome we breed our pokemon with each other. I rembered this because on PTD1 I noticed couldnt do it
ReplyDeleteFound a glitch that lets you take 1-2 steps out of the map.
ReplyDeleteIf you go to the Poke lab and walk towards the South wall at the bottom you step out of the map(1-2 steps only then it blocks you off)
nothing major just needs fixing
ReplyDeleteI also noticed that Bulbasaur's Leech Seed continue to damage the enemy also if Bulbasaur has been defeated, it's ok when he's out of the field but if he has been defeated Leech Seed should stop working (or at least it's what it does in the official games).
ReplyDeletethat's not what it does in the official games
ReplyDeleteno when a pokemon is seeded, it is seeded until the effect finish not by killing bulbasaur, Inform yourself, and do not say what you do not know
ReplyDeletethe tactic described by mighark below, people need to remember that these are only the first few levels and once you beat them once you're reward is a pokemon to make them easier, diglett to beat red's pikachu for example, and now bulbasaur for brock
ReplyDeletethe difficulty is only going to increase
Sorry, I actually informed myself before writing this, but apparently on a page with wrong infos (dammit! I'm going to kill them). My bad (and their).
ReplyDeleteP.S: Geodude with Rock Tomb is an (almost) unstoppable killing machine, especially when he learn Rock polish! I love it!
yeah, it's weird, bulbapedia has never steered me wrong before - but this is what is on it "
ReplyDeleteRecurrent Leech Seed draining will not occur if the seeded Pokémon defeats the target."
I was on Pokémon Central Wiki (the italian version of bulbapedia) there was the same error... or maybe we're wrong? I don't know anymore... please somebody help me!
ReplyDeletewell i checked it on my yellow version rom and leech seed still saps enemy pokemon after my bulbasaur fainted
ReplyDeleteBecause I'm a regular Dan. I'm not Dan Bell
ReplyDelete:D
So it's set up like pokemon black and white, right sam?
ReplyDeleteOnyx is way to easy to kill, espically after you get bulbasaur with its grass moves
ReplyDeleteI checked that on Yellow, Ruby and FireRed versions. I play competitive pokemon, I know what I am talking about, I just cant understand, when i dint know something I allways see bulbapedia, I cant believe it's wrong or maybe we're we are misread the phrase.
ReplyDeletewe are not against leech seed we just want to find the truth
ReplyDeleteBeat Brock in one try. Too easy ! Here's how I did it:
ReplyDeleteMy team:
Butterfree x 1, Lv. 10
Spearow x 1, Lv. 7ish
Rattata x 1, Lv. 7
Pidgey x 3, Lv. 5
Potion x 1
Send out Pidgey first for Geodude.
Just keep using Sand Attack until it dies, then send in Butterfree to kill it.
Send out a Pidgey once Geodude is dead.
Use Potion on Butterfree to heal.
Keep using Sand Attack until it is at -6 accuracy. You may need to use two Pidgey, that's fine because the other one is otherwise useless.
Send in Rattata and Spearow to lower Defense (Tail Whip/Leer) and Attack (Growl) and also to make a dent in his HP. (Helps if Rattata knows Focus Energy.)
Onix should have -6 or close to that in Accuracy, Defense, and Attack by now. Send in Butterfree to finish him off.
At one point he used boulder attack on my Spearow and it only took out like 80% of it's heath.
Come on, Sam ! Too easy !
Here's how I did it:
ReplyDeleteMy team:
Geodude x 1
Potion x 4
Send out Geodude for first Geodude.
just keep using rock polish, then Defense curl, and Tackle it.
Use Potion to heal Geodude
Keep using tackle and your potions
haha, I spent less money
You should make Onix use Bind after every 2 or 3 boulder throws because otherwise you can just drag your Pokemon offscreen when the boulder comes and put it back on after.
ReplyDeletebtw, when does story mode level 2 finally come out
ReplyDeleteif i buy the two rare candies can i beat the game and get access to them again? or after i use them they are gone forever?
ReplyDeletehiya im the same person tht left a comment asking for the new mystery gift option and ty for reading it and replying but i also wanted to say i think u shud focus less on 1v1 mode and more on story mode cuz i hav friends who also play and agree wit me and ty for the awsome free game!!!!
ReplyDeletewell the truth is that some moves are gonna be more effective in the tower defence format than they are in the original games, and I only got defensive because i love bulbasaur and leech seed, it was tongue in cheek tbh
ReplyDeleteList time!
ReplyDelete1.How will TM's be found in 1v1 (Sorry if they are given in a current level, Level 6 is still stalling me DX)? Will you have to buy them in Story Mode or will you find them?
2.How will the wild battling work?
3.Have you considered using the space bar button as the action button? I was going around and the space bar seems natural for talking to people.
4. How will you be alerted of an egg in the Day Care?
I think it means that it will not sap hp if there is no opponent on the other side. If your pokemon is taken out, then it takes a turn to send it in. In that turn, there's no pokemon for the hp to go to, so no hp is taken.
ReplyDeletebutterfree can beat all the levels so far without any potions or other pokemon
ReplyDeleteJust beat it with a bulbasaur and Butterfree (used other pokemon in lower levels.) That's 37 coins to your 62. Beat that !
ReplyDeleteIf we only count wins via things you could buy before you beat the level the first time, then I just set a new record: 55 coins: Butterfree, Pidgey, and 2 Potions.
ReplyDeletefalse.
ReplyDeleteActually it's true, and I've done it myself. Butterfree might not always win (in fact, I'm pretty sure that confusion hax are needed on the Hiker level), but it certainly can, with the right order of moves, effective use of the hotkeys, and sometimes a little bit of luck.
ReplyDeleteYeah I changed the font, I want to change all of them but there is like 400+
ReplyDeleteonly two per play session, so every time you start over you get 2, other levels will unlock more rare candy packs
ReplyDeleteI'm considering checkpoints on gym leaders but you would have to start over. Like it won't save which items or pokemon you have but you can skip to the gym level.
ReplyDeleteThat kinda the point is to drag it out so it won't hit you
ReplyDeletethe first thing you said
ReplyDeleteI do the 1v1 mode cause its fast to make a level on it, for story I have to build a lot of stuff before I can get to the actual levels so it just gives you guys something to do while you wait.
ReplyDelete1. Beating Level 7 unlocks it for you, there might be some to buy later on.
ReplyDelete2. You run into a pokemon (they will be walking around) and it will go into the battle screen.
3. Yeah I'm using space bar and z
4. probably in the pokemon center
Yes, butterfree can consistently win actually. Without potions. You just need to use your first free two moves (before the other pokemon comes out) to harden, then do a combination of harden, string shot, and confusion. If you wish, you can throw in tackle, but it's unnecessary. This works for every level, though the first two you can just up the speed and use confusion alone.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, it's not a problem.
ReplyDeletebutterfree always wins every level for me i don't know how to hack, as long as you use string shot and harden enough it's fine
ReplyDeleteAgainst leech seed? We love it! We only want to know better its exact mechanism.
ReplyDeleteNew record:
ReplyDeleteMy team:
Geodude x 1
Bulbasaur x 1
TOTAL: 24 coins, and yes, it's possible
yeah, i've done that one too but it's not as easy as just using butterfree imo it's faster with butterfree too?
ReplyDeleteis there enough exp to get bulbasaur up to lvl9 and geodude up to lvl8 before brock?
this is an idea: when we reach a checkpoint, it will save the level of our pokemon and when we lose, we begin from the check and we can buy the pokemon on the level we left it but it will cost more coins, than the normal. or if we dont have enough, we have to buy it level 5.
ReplyDeleteexample:
I beat brock with geodude level 9, I lose on next level, but i dont want to start from the beginig so with so many coins I earned from brock I'll buy geodude level 9. If I have 20 coins geodude level 9 cost 25 coins, and level 6 cost 18, I have to buy level 6.
yes
ReplyDeleteBut we have to think in make more valious and rare like a wild infected pokemon, is just infected for 48hours, and those are infected for contact cannot infect other pokemon, there hundreads of possibilities
ReplyDeleteHey Sam, I was wondering if in 1v1 player you'll leave the pokemon that you buy in the order of how expensive they are (like they are now) or will you reorganize them so that they will be in numerical order of the pokedex? I only ask because I noticed that when bulbasaur is unlocked he's on the next page.
ReplyDeleteLike, every 7 levels a check point... that should do.
ReplyDeleteThere will probobly be different buttons to catagorize them different ways like the party selection screen, right sam?
ReplyDeletelol oops
ReplyDeleteI got bulbasaur rock tomb butterfree beedrill and rare candy! Thanks for taking my idea of Rare Candy!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou took my idea of Rare CandY!!! :) And i got everything in the game!
ReplyDeleteGet Better Soon!
ReplyDeleteYou said it can "consistently win" in your first post. Just now you said it "might not always win." Those two statements are contradictory. In your most recent post you inadvertently agreed with me.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the highest level you've gotten to?
ReplyDeleteK, so the record then is 55?
ReplyDeleteBulbasaur is unlocked after beating Brock the first time, so that win is not eligible. Record is still 55 at the time of this writing.
ReplyDeleteHey Sam! Loving the new level, but I found a bug. Actually, I remember someone saying this before but you being unable to reproduce. Anyways, so I was leveling up a geodude for the gym fight, and he got to level 8 at the end of the 4th level (the one right before the first of the three gym battles), and he didn't learn rock polish. If I find it again, I'll take a screen shot for you of my level 8 geodude with no rock polish.
ReplyDeletePretty sure that the solo butterfree mentioned multiple times above is the record of 25 if you don't count bulbasaur.
ReplyDeleteI did it only with butterfree (string shot then confusion then bye bye geodude and onix)
ReplyDeleteI cant play on your blog
ReplyDeletethat's a good question right now I just have them in the order that they are unlocked and also keeping evolutions together
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was a rough day yesterday but I'm feeling a lot better today.
ReplyDeletewhere you playing at a high speed?
ReplyDeleteIve had the same problem several times, and i usually play on high speed
ReplyDeleteYou're right, my bad. *edits*
ReplyDeleteNice job!
ReplyDeletebutterfree gets to level 12 and learns poison powder when beating all 7 levels
ReplyDeleteHmm, I can't remember, though it seems likely.
ReplyDeleteI just tried it and I got the problem to repeat two play throughs in a row. Note that I tried on both regular and highest speed and geodude learned rock polish just fine. However, when I was on one speed higher than regular, he did not learn rock polish. Specifically, I buy geodude/butterfree, have geodude kill everything on the first three maps (tackle, defense curl when not tackling), and then kill rattata on the fourth level. Then butterfree uses harden/string shot/confusion to wipe out the rest of the pokemon on the fourth level until Nidoran male, I have butterfree weaken him a little and then switch to geodude. The speed is on one click faster than normal. Geodude levels up and does not get the move. It might not make a difference, but geodude is in the second slot and butterfree in the first for me.
ReplyDeleteHow do you even beat the guy before brock?
ReplyDeleteAnother record, i beat it using geodude and 1 potion- thats 22 coins.
ReplyDeleteBeat that! (i dont think it's possible to use less than 22 coins though)
Hey Sam, great game.
ReplyDeleteI do have some questions about the gameplay after the Gold/Silver part of the game. If you go to Hoen, Sinnoh and Unova, do you pick another version for that generation, or are you going to implent like this: (Ruby, Pearl and Black in Gold) (Sapphire, Diamond and White in Silver)?
butterfree's confusion is the only special move you can get from the start and geodude's sp def is way lower than its defence so i'd recommend confusion, you can also train nidoran up to learn double kick at lvl 9
ReplyDeleteThat's probably the limit alright, out of curiosity what level do you need the potion for? I still prefer butterfree though because it's so easy.
ReplyDeleteSam, I believe I found another small error during gameplay. When a Pokemon raises a stat to more than +1 (such as Geodude with Defense Curl) and an opposing Pokemon then lowers the stat (such as rattata with tail whip), the arrow points to whichever way the stat was changed last, regardless of whether the total stat boost is still positive or negative on the whole. I don't believe that this affects the actual stats adversely during the level, but I wanted to let you know about the issue as it shows up visually. I hope that I have explained this well enough, but if not, I can try to word it another way if that is needed.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get well soon, Sam: I've had a stomach virus within the past year, and it certainly wasn't a pleasant experience. While I'm sure you're itching to keep working on this game and others, please don't push yourself too far for our sake if you're not feeling up to it; I'm 100% certain that your true fans will understand. I certainly do.
needed it for the 5th level.
ReplyDeleteyeah, the 5th!
i got that as well, exept i had two geodudes leveling up at the same time and one learnt rock polish while the other didnt.
ReplyDeleteif i find the ds sprites for the map, would you change it to those in story mode?
ReplyDeleteCOMO FAZ CODIGO
ReplyDelete1) I want to know how long you need to make 1 point on your list to 100%. I know it sounds crazy but I check this page every day every 5 minutes.
ReplyDelete2) When we can go to other regions will we be able to to keep the old pokemon and take them with us or do you make us leaf them anywhere and we go without our pokemon to the next region??
(Sorry when I wrote something wrong. I am fromm middle europe)
Hey Sam, how far do you think you can get before september 17th with the story mode? just wondering because I ship out to basic training on the 17th for four months..
ReplyDelete1. can you provide more proof of this happening?
ReplyDelete2. Thanks I think it was a 24 hour bug I feel a lot better now :)
^^
ReplyDeletePlease don't... Obama is a horrible man... lol
ReplyDeleteI think it would be fun if we did it like ash and only took our one pokemon interregionally (with rare exceptions like mystery gifts)
ReplyDeletethat would be good too
ReplyDeleteIs anyone having probelms saving on 1v1?? Mine wont work
ReplyDeleteGeodude is overpowered with Rock Tomb. Its almost unbeatable at level 8.

Hey guys, I'd like more opinions on whether you think Butterfree should nerfed or not. It seems as if it's a bit too powerful as of now. Feel free to contribute here
ReplyDeletehttp://pandoragaming.co.uk/single/?p=8459034&t=9690872 or just comment on here, but make sure to read that post to see what some people are proposing for a Butterfree nerf.
The only nerf that makes sense is Butterfree costing more, which really should be true since with Butterfree you basically get five free levels worth of experience on one pokemon, on top of it being already evolved twice (thus better stats) and the moves that come from leveling up.
ReplyDeleteAll sam has to do to nerf it is have a birdkeeper in the next 1v1 level and then it will kill the butterfree
ReplyDeleteNot really Jeremy. Remember Geodude? That had a 4x super effective attack against Butterfree. Did that kill Butterfree? No it didn't. Trust me when I say that a birdkeeper will not nerf Butterfree that much and either way it's still ABSOLUTELY AMAZING against the first seven levels. Powercreep will eventually kill Butterfree in time, but as of now, early-game, it's arguably way too good for the price you have to pay to get it. 25 coins is way too cheap for such a good Pokemon that comes at LEVEL 10. I think making it cost 40 coins will be an appropriate nerf.
ReplyDeleteBuying Rare Candies to unlock Butterfree and Beedrill.
ReplyDeleteWho's heard of the GS ball? For those who haven't heard of it, in the anime Ash had to deliver it to Kurt so he could research it. The idea was Kurt would open it and it would travel with Ash and co (Pokemon brought back this idea with Melotta in Best Wishes). The idea was recycled, but, it would be awesome if Mr. Pokemon of Prof. Oak gave the player the GS ball at the start of the game, then once you meet Kurt, he'll open it up and Celebi will join your group and fight antagonists in Story Mode. Then right before you head to Victory Road, you fight Celebi and finally catch it (about 5-10 levels weaker than the Elite Four) That would be soooooooooooo awesome!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave potions, use butterfree using string shot to slow it down and then confusion... The first geodude only uses tackle so you should be able to max out its defence before taking on the ones which have the rock throw. Having a few of them obviously makes it easier. A geodude with rock polish is handy too as even though tackle is not very effective... when going at x6 speed it is handy... Cheeeeeers
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the 1v1 is more appealing than the story mode. I no you're busy with other things but do you think you could knock out a few levels in bulk... Its frustrating having to wait a week for 1 new level haha! Like on PTD1 where you had chapters of 4/5 levels come out at a time. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm very impressed with your extensive skills on game development, - have you considered making a apple/android APP for ptd? Even if it cost everyone a small amount to buy - you would make money and I for one would certainly buy it.
I made this question: "Sam, will we have our pokemon on Johto?" and Sam answered: "You may trasnfer them at certain point"
ReplyDeleteyou dont need that
ReplyDelete2 more questions Sam:
ReplyDelete1) In what country are you living. I want to know about the time zonesbetween you and me.
2) Are you going to make questions about the versions at the beginning of each region??
i.e. When we are in Hoenn Professor Birch would ask us if we want to play the Ruby or the Sapphire version etc.
I just thought of this, but people should be able to use snd coins to buy the third version of each generation.
ReplyDeletethats a bad idea with snd coins. i dont want to buy them
ReplyDeleteIf you catch a butterfree in another game it hasn't got string shot and harden, maybe you could remove these moves from butterfree. metapod is the same thing if you catch him in the wild it doesn't has string shot.
ReplyDeleteI just have to say I'm excited about ANPO! I'll always wanted something like this! There is already a similar game called Terra Monsters and I want you to do better than them. Here are my suggestions
ReplyDelete-be original! New/ different types! Multi-type moves.
-have a poll for everything! The best way to keep the most people happy is a poll. Start by getting suggestions for new types, and their effectiveness.
-Have contests! Design contest especially. Have limited edition monster/ seasonal mons.
-DO NOT PUT EVERYTHING OF A SINGLE TYPE IN ONE AREA! The game Terra Monsters did this, and I say its their biggest mistake!
I know this post is out of place but I just figured out what ANPO is
He did. That interferes with copyright laws, which this online free version doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI also have a few Suggestions for ANPO
ReplyDelete1. Don't copy all the Pokemon types, for example the type Fly could be Wind instead, If you have Dark, include its opposite Light, feels wrong to have only one of them, Maybe change Ground to Earth?, Steel to Metal? Sounds cooler, Maybe Plant type just things like that so it dosnt copy the pokemon types exactly.
2.Pokemon has breeding, but they really did it bad in my eyes.
Firstly they all Lay eggs, perhaps letting some get pregnent or things like that as well as eggs so you have to leave the parent pokemon in the care center to look after its young to be more like real Animals
Secondly You can bread two totally different pokemon, and still get just 1 of
them, that in my eyes is wrong and same species should bread with its own species
One thing which would be really amazing cool and fun is that when you do breed two different Animals, you get An Animal that is only obtainable by breeding them two together, and that pokemon is a kind of cross-breed hybrid which has traits from both its parents. Just like the Time in the Pokemon Show that blastoise got crossed with Veanasaur.
It's easier.
ReplyDelete1. GM-5.
ReplyDelete2. Already get to choose.
Nicely done! Out of curiosity, was that with or without rock tomb? Either way it's awesome!
ReplyDeletehello
ReplyDeletei have trouble with 1vs1 challenge #6. Can somebody help me or give me some tips?
