Final Exams Week
Like many of you, this week is my final exam week at college. This means more time studying and less time being able to work on an update. For that reason instead of adding new things to the list I will only work on what is in the list and get breeding and the item store up plus fix some bugs like the checkpoint in 1v1 mode not giving you the experience points. If I have extra time I would like to increase the soft cap some more and add new moves but no promises. Also like every week there will be a new mystery gift!

Mystery Gift
So far we have had an Ice, Dark, Fighting, Ghost, Electric, Flying and Legendary pokemon in the mystery gift. So first let's figure out which type we want then we can figure out which pokemon we want from that type. Let's make this happen!

My friends do stuff!
Joel did a cool comic showcasing real life pokemon evolution check it out! http://joelsamcomic.blogspot.com/

Gym Battle Feedback!
So the gym level has been out for a bit and it had some interesting mechanics. I would love to know what you guys thought about the level. What is too hard to understand? Too easy? What did you like of it? What did you hate? All this information will help me when thinking of future levels.

Help me squash some bugs!
A lot of you can't seem to get the game to load while a whole bunch of you can. This is really weird as I've always been able to load the game. What I'm thinking is that this isn't a programming bug at all and more like something happening on the server. What I need is information! First if you have never been able to load ptd2, what browser are you using, did you clear your cache, what country are you accessing the game from, what website are you trying to access it from, what day of the week have you tried to load the game? If you had trouble but can now load it, did you do anything specific to make it load?  My guess is that some people might be timing out with our server.

Another bug is the one when your pokemon get the moves of another pokemon. I need information as to what you did when this happened and can you replicate the bug and how.

With this information I will be able to better solve these issues and make everything better for everybody!

Creature Universe - Air Starter!
When I first thought of making my own original creatures for my next game I really wanted to take the things that you would expect and flip them on their head. The Air starter is a great example of this! Let's check them out! Here what Bill, one of our artist, sent us as a concept and then the colored version. Keep in mind that the names and descriptions where made by Bill and aren't necessarily final!
Bill's concept image (not final names or descriptions)
Colored versions by Bill (not final colors)

Thanks guys for all the support! As always let me know what you think! Keep checking back to see how I'm progressing in the game!

  8. Can i say that the flying gym in ptd gym in ptd 2 was just 2 easy? Just stay away from the gust attacks and u win

  9. The gym lvl was 2 easy

  10. Can u make the gym harder?

  11. Hi Sam, as for the Gym, It was a little annoying constantly moving around to avoid the tornadoes but i got threw it.

Why is there a daily activity if its always the same thing?

    ReplyDelete
  12. No, no, no, you people need to vote Poison-type. The Poison-type is the best type, and we need more of them in the game as quickly as humanly possible because they're awesome.

  13. How about create a npc that looks like PSY(gangnam style) with a alakazam only with psy wave, and a gengar (oppa gengar style)

  15. Hi Sam! Long time no see. I thought the gym battle is kind of hard with all the pigeys running around, but the pigiotto and pigeot concept is a great idea!

  23. You asked for comments on the gym battle, so here I go:

It was great! I thought it trumped every gym battle you have done in the past in terms of strategy which is something I look for in a game. I lost my first time through cause I was testing the whirlwind systems seeing how much damage they did and just not paying attention, but the second time through I used some strategy and beat it, and from there learned the trick of string shot/scary face, which almost makes it too easy with my Ice and now Electric attacks to quickly take out Pidgeotto and Pidgeot while my Phanpy and Quilava take out the Pidgeys. I even have been testing out if I can do it with just a Geodude or Phanpy, I has provided much entertainment for me and I would love to see other gym battles like it with a more strategy need, cause honestly for me the old gyms seemed a little too difficult what with pokemon like Kyoger, Celebi, Muk, Entei, Moltres, Groudon, I mean I expect harder battles for gym, and even harder ones for the pokemon league, but personally I would rather have strategy like you did in this gym. If you weren't prepared you could have multiple pokemon endanger of whirlwinds and quickly lose one or more of them making the battle much more exciting to complete with just two or three pokemon of almost any type, where older gyms needed specific pokemon trained solely for the gym you are currently facing.

Sorry for the rant, I do love your games and the work you put into them, I just am finding a deeper love for PTD2 because of the strategy that is in it so far. I hope that you keep up the hard work, I would rather see more gyms like this that make things, that is my opinion. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hey Sam!
I'm glad that you are going to do breeding feature finally. :)
Starters as always are looking great. :]
I wish you luck on the final exam and making progress in PTD2. :>

  25. Sam. I would like to make u a question. Since u made the new 1vs1 level and removed candies... how do u think we can defeat the pewter gym using the checkpoint, if we have no way to level up our team before we face Brock?? If we could at least receive the same experience that we should have got by doing all the way...

    ReplyDelete
  26. personally i dont like the green one of the three. it might be the color.... but i think its the shape more than aything.... its too circular, id rather see it with a little more of a cyllinder like squid like its evolved forms

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sam. There's a little problem. When you use the checkpoint on pewter gym you don't have any pokemon ,so you only have enought points to buy 1 pokemon.

    ReplyDelete
  28. can you find phanpy in game?

    ReplyDelete
  29. GOOD LUCK ON UR EXAMS SAM

    ReplyDelete
  30. I also think you can make a level in wich pokemon go in different direction like in the poketower 1 (PTD 1) but having more pathes to take. And the gym level it was enjoyable.

Sorry for my English, I actually speak spanish although I know how to speak.

  31. there should be a qiuck trade option on the tradeing houme page

    ReplyDelete
  32. fortunatlely they are wining

    ReplyDelete
  33. if fire water or grass wins we should geta shiny starter

    ReplyDelete
  34. Rock, fire and water types have only one representation each in the game so far. Looks like fire is winning ... not a lot of choices there that are not starters or legendary, I think. I'm hoping for Litwick or Darumaka. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh yeah, good luck on the exams, Sam!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sam, I think it was silly to take off the graphic interface from your to-do list. It would really make the game look more professional. If you don't have time to do it, you can keep putting it off, but to take it off because the game "looks fine as is" just sounds like you aren't invested in making this game the best it can be. Just my opinion, though. I like what you've been doing! I'm glad you got a bunch of stuff off your to-do list (though I still want happiness).

    ReplyDelete
  37. This is probably the best tower defence game I have ever played online, and it's still not finished.
    You're doing great sam

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think the bug where one pokemon gets the moves of another (more like one pokemon getting the sprite of another) has become more rare. The last time this happened to mine (a male Ledian becoming female + an extra male Ledyba) was like 2 updates ago. I suspect it had something to do with catching wild pokemon and not saving right away...

When I load the game, it usually stops every 5-10% of loading. I just reload the page every time this happens. I usually use Chrome.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I actually voted fire. Let the fire blaze. ( joking on the blaze part )

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes only in gold in the morning but only this game

    ReplyDelete
  41. from what generation were you thinking?

    ReplyDelete
  42. yes but it is a bit rare, check the FAQ for details where and when to get all the different types of Pokemon currently in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  43. What do you mean by quick trade?

    ReplyDelete
  44. A Torcoal might be nice if fire wins.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi Sam. Time to make a list (planned to be short)

1.) The Gym level was nice. I think if you don't defeat the Pidgeottos there will be an infinite amount of Pidgeys. Right? Well, I like the way you make each Gym battle interesting (Dodging Celebi, Onix cut scene, Don't hurt Big Muk, etc.). Having them as normal battles would make it too easy. I like that I have to think ahead and all.

2.) The squid surprised me most on the shape from round to thin to fat. The color changes a bit too. The air type thing not so much (probably because I was thinking of that purple flying balloon Pokemon that I can't remember the name of). But I think it is still neat.

3.) Good luck on the exams.

  48. ... People can be idiots. I mean come on, what possibly would a fire type would be useful for if you have a Cyndaquil? Really, it ain't cool. just think about it for a second... are you willing to give up your starter for something that is shiny? Even if from a different region, it won't be as good as you make it. See, you might be thinking "OMG it's going to be Houndour!" But, for all you know, it can be a Vulpix. Get the point?

( I'm not saying that Vulpix is a bad poke, just overall, people who like Houndour's style in battling, may not feel the same about Vulpix's)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Qiuck trade should be an option on the tradeing page
beacues lots of poeple dont even post a trade reqest
i think u should add that option

    ReplyDelete
  50. Vulpix wouldn't be bad, it has the ability drought, in fact, give me a vulpix!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. would be awesome if it's a Magby, Lidwick or Larvesta though but I think that wouldn't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  52. love the air squids gonna call it octopops ;) water starter still my fav don't change it Sam good luck with finals

    ReplyDelete
  53. go fire but my second choice is poison

    ReplyDelete
  54. the gym is a gift from above (or from the flying) best one in in ptd 1 and 2 combined

  60. Sam, here's the problem I'm having with PTD 2. WHENEVER I try to log in it tells me the server is full and to try again in a few minutes! Every single time, it's the same message! I tried different browsers and NOTHING works! Mozilla is the worst because that never loads to the main screen of the game! But Chrome and IE never let me log in! I never used to have this problem! And I REALLY want to get the Shiny Jirachi! :( I have the code but I can't enter it! Please fix this, Sam!

    ReplyDelete
  61. for the gym feed back I thought it was challenging but really fun. If you still feel like it needs work i would recommend increasing the speed of pidgeotoe's gust while slowing pidget's. It just didnt feel like i had enough time to shift the positioning of my pokemon if their were 3 in one colnum

    ReplyDelete
  62. I was thinking more about numel, but if fire won, the mystery gift should be one of these pokemons:
    -Litwick
    -Numel
    -Torkoal
    -Darumaka

    ReplyDelete
  63. For your second question, the pokemon is a ghost-flying pokemon; Drifloom or Drifblim (the ballon with legs or the hot-air balon?)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I liked the gym battle, but I think you should put a limit to the number of pidgeys (increasing the number of waves and make it independent of Pidgeotto / Pidgeot status). Moreover, the level was quite original, a bit difficult and fun.
    Good Luck!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Fire is winning, surprise, surprise

    ReplyDelete
  66. and flying jellyfish are myths in the real world...

    ReplyDelete
  67. Sam, when I was using explorer, the game worked fine, then it stopped loading, but when I switched to chrome, no problems so far.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yes, but Cyndaquil/Quilava have a fire/normal moveset (actually), other pokemons like larvesta or numel introduce new moves or combinaitions with a soft cap that stops at level 14. So, introduce another fire pokemon NOW isn't useless.

    ReplyDelete
  69. My first choice is water, but poison is my second.
But I always knew fire would win.

    ReplyDelete
  70. poison type is only good against grass type, its weak to ground and psychic, steel is immune to it, personally dont like it except for muk

    ReplyDelete
  71. Your comment amuses me. With what are you breeding with?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Portuguese? If I'm not mistaken, this is a blog in English, so please...

    ReplyDelete
  73. the trick is player involvement, move your pokemon out of the way!

    ReplyDelete
  74. thats a dream world only ability but yeah drought is great, but i prefer it on arcanine,
Still i vote Litwick(because larvesta is too strong and we all know it)

    ReplyDelete
  75. go litwick!, also grass has one GOOD representation- bellsprout.
totodile works well for water, cyndaquil is good for fire albeit fire normal limited.
i wouldnt worry about rock, golem is good, though rhydon is better for tower defence purposes.

    ReplyDelete
  76. you can farm coins, by beating a level and leaving.

    ReplyDelete
  77. yeah that's an oversight that I didn't add the experience points

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yes, those two. Thank you. I can never get accustomed to gen. 4 and up (and I am generally bad at remembering names).

    ReplyDelete
  79. Sam, this isn't very important, but you forgot to update an old blog. It is "Tuesday, November 6,
2012 SnD Games Weekly: Security Measures, Pokemon Researcher, and CUTD
Map Abilities." The update list there wasn't deleted and it says you are currently writing the next blog. Again, it is not important, but I thought you should know.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yes, I won it the same day that it was launched; I'm saying that, if you don't kill pidgeotto or pidgeot, you have a easy way to train your pokemons.

    ReplyDelete
  81. You can't get it on arcanine, and all Pokemon automatically can use their dream world abilities upon release.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Sam, I love the gym battle, but have a few things to say about it.

Nice ideas, but I believe that it's too easy. I don't know how to explain, but I can name the PTD 1 levels that I like, in terms of its complexity, strategy, etc. : Poke Tower 2, Saffron City, Celadon Gym, Elite 4, Route 17 (Zapdos boss) and Rock Tunnel (in PTD 2 the map part is already there, but I do like a quest-style level design). So you can consider those level designs when making new levels.

Will you make a Rematch level with the other Pokemon for Falkner once Violet City reopens?

By the way, I like how you made it so that the party Pokemon's icons are shaded blue, but could you please change the colour? It makes me think that they are male.

A suggestion for Your Trade Request (PokeCentre) : Pokemon with requests should be moved to the top of the list so that I would not hurt my eyes looking for requests.

And last question: if all genderless Pokemon are shown as male, they would be able to breed with a female of their secondary egg group. Please make them truly genderless, and you could perhaps make their profile picture background gray (instead of blue).

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  83. For your comment on the pokemon center trade requests, Sam is working on it. In the update list above (on the very bottom of the list) you will see it says, "Top Searchers/Top Request/Latest Trades (0%)". I believe that includes what you were saying.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I second the idea of a rematch!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I would like any good pokemon regardless of type, but I voted water cuz it's my favorite type.

  94. Sam:
I thought the new gym level was interesting, and once I figured it out it only took me about 5 tries to beat with level 12-14 Pokemon. However, being the first gym, I think that should probably be easier and then the other gyms can be more difficult. People just starting the game might not battle every wild Pokemon, and might only have level 10-11 when they get to that point. I remember one of the things you wanted to do was eliminate the grinding in PTD2, because all the people who say it's easy probably had level 18+ Pokemon. I did think the mechanics for the level were fun, but I made me feel weak battling a level 30 with a butterfree at level 14. As another suggestion, you could make it so this is just a practice battle and have the real battle with Falkner in his city where you get a gym badge/case and a TM.

I also think that having trainers on the routes like Youngsters would help the leveling up issue, and make it so you don't have to just level up off of wild Pokemon.

A completely unrelated suggestion is to make it so when we hit organize by number in PokeStorage, it organizes them better. Right now, let's pretend I have a shiny Pidgey, 2 regular Pidgeys, and 3 shadow Pidgeys. If I hit organize by number, they get scrambled and I could have Shadow, Shiny, Shadow, Regular, Regular, Shadow. I think it would be nicer if it organized them in a set order, such a Regular, then Shiny, then Shadow. It would make organizing so much nicer.

Thanks Sam, and good luck on your exams!

  95. There is a bug that if u use luxio and spark the pidgeotto and pidgeot wont do anything

    ReplyDelete
  96. No, this is not a bug. Spark paralyzes the birds and they can't use the attacks.

    ReplyDelete
  97. You can search your trades with the searching function of your browser. Usually is Ctrl+F, then search for (1), (2), etc. But yes, a "Trade Request" system like that would be useful...

The genderless pokémon are shown as male only in the game, when you are in the pokémon center they are shown as genderless. I think it's only a graphic problem and first or later it will be solved.

  101. The names are not final, so you should change the middle stage as its too long and complicated. the longest names in pokemon are 10 letters long- Victreebel, Feraligatr ect while that is 12 letters.
    Squaad?
    Inkomion?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Dear Sam,
You asked some questions so here are my answers. I can get the game to load. I use Mozilla Firefox for my web browser but sometimes I use internet explorer, they both work. The only time I have trouble loading the game is when you update it. However the trouble doesn't last very long, so after 3 to ten minutes I can load it perfectly. I have not cleared my cache and I am in the United States. I access PTD 2 on Sam and dan games ( which is here.) I load it every day of the week so I can shiny hunt. After an update when it won't load I generally close the window and reopen it. Then it loads to about fifty and freezes, so I close the window again and reopen it. Then it loads perfectly. The pokemon learning another pokemon's move bug I have had experiance with. It was when you put up the level with Zai. I was playing minding my own buisness, when suddenly I got booted out and a sign popped up saying Suspected of hacking click anywhere to continue. I have never even hacked in my life but that is beside the point. when I logged back in my sentret had learned my hoothoot's moves! I cannot replicate itthe suspected of hacking sign does not pop up any =more when I play the level with Zai. The gym battle is absolutely amazing. I love how you mixed 1vs1 and tower defense style, good job! I love the flying squid. Those are my answers sorry they were so long. PTD 2 is great, keep up the good work.

  103. i like all fire poke in fire type and Sceptile and swampert and all type dragon

    ReplyDelete
  104. I'd actually like a Vulpix, too! But looking at the history of Mystery Gift choices, they had always been from Gen III-V ... I think bcoz every Gen I & II pokemon will be introduced in-game sooner or later.

    ReplyDelete
  105. My Gym Battle Feedback -- I liked it A LOT!! I love that you had to move your pokemon around vs. just placing them in some order and waiting for them to demolish the opponents. It's more exciting that way. :)

It's not too easy either, which is good coz it gets boring fast if it's too easy. Actually, make all Gym Battles more difficult! Yeah!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Sam, will we be able to get Everstone in-game, like maybe held by wild Geodudes? Or will it only be available in the Pokemon Center Item Store?

    ReplyDelete
  107. I like the gym battle, but I never get a gym badge no matter how many times I beat him.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Hey Sam! Great work as always, keep it up!

For some specific feedback, I really like the air dude. By far my favorite in terms of originality of design, and I really enjoyed the little world tidbits on the picture. Great concept! The names are also really good--not too pokemon like.

For the gym battle, I thought it was much easier than the Zapdos fight. I don't think that's necessarily bad, though, since the Zapdos fight is supposed to be so epic. I also like the special attacks that you give the gym pokemon. Keep up the originality with the future gym battles.

That said, I would prefer a lower effective level (e.g., 14 instead of 20), and slightly lower levels on the pidgeotto and pidgeot. Also, I think the difficulty is a bit stratified: for those who move their pokemon around, it's basically a waiting game and just taking time to do damage, for those who don't, it is basically suicide. I would prefer to see it evened out a bit. For example, decrease the cooldown on pidgeot's gust a bit, but reduce the number of times an individual gust hurts a pokemon. After all, I tested a level 20 luxio with +6 to special defense, and a single gust still took out more than half of his hit points. That is simply too strong, in my opinion. Pokemon that resist the attack should be able to survive a few times, and this can be done by reducing the number of times a single gust hits. To balance that out (and the fact that pidgeot can be slowed and paralyzed), reduce the cooldown on the attack.

    ReplyDelete
  109. That's because Sam hasn't programmed the gym badge yet. It will be out in the next story update.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Is it possible to beat the 1vs1 level that come after Brock? Everytime I try it only ends up with me beaten down.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I never said Vulpix is bad, but if you want a houndour, you be intrested in an sp. attack and attack type. Vulpix on the other hand you have a totally different style.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Maybe not. But y not use him?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Your right(sort of). I was just using an example. And btw Houndour is gen 2.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I voted on ground, I would like a ground type besides geo

  117. I really like this starter because the design is simple. :)

    ReplyDelete
  118. The easiest way to beat the level after Brook is to use a level 10 butterfree with confusion together with 3 geodudes, a pikachu and a bulbasaur ( all of them at level 5). You must use butterfree against the other butterfree, rattata and pidgey ( againist this one use also pikachu), use bulbasaur againist the other bulbasaur ( use also buttefree) and use the 3 geodudes againist arbok and pikachu. It works like a charm.

  119. relearn the old moves

    ReplyDelete
  120. Qiuck trade should be an option on the tradeing page
beacues lots of poeple dont even post a trade reqest
i think u should add that option

    ReplyDelete
  121. why is fire wining by a landmine

    ReplyDelete
  122. You mean landslide, right? Because, that is what the majority of people want, duh.

    ReplyDelete
  123. One butterfree is actually enough.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I might sound a little rude here but i'd like to know if you actually plan as much as you should. This isnt time to worry about , you're better succeed your exams, and its an overall "comment/question"

I'm not a lot into the last pokemons released, I'm actually older than you and used to know a lot about the 2 first generations , and it's a great comeback into my childhood to play your stuff. But to be honest , i grew up and have fun with challenge. And i kinda feel like Mystery gifts are a little overpowered to pass though Story mode (i.e vanilite when geodude then flying gym girl came out). In my opinion , you shouldn't let choose us which type of pokemon do we want , since someone collecting them all (like i do) might soon have 1 , or even 6 pokemons of each type, which might ease the game a lot and restrains tactical chooses. Please just choose yourself what's to get. Or choose between X & Y which pretty much do the same / have the same strengh. (Or do later some kind of hard mode / challenges like it used to be.)

Btw this isn't aggressive , I'm just trying to give you an advice : Even if you do your job slower , you'd do someday a full planing of who's where. I'm afraid we might be bored after a while if we play for 1-2 years, have all types & kind of dream teams but only half the 500+ pokemons out and just have to wait.

    Keep being awesome

    ReplyDelete
  125. second evo looks too much like a blooper (whatever its called from mario). Might want to look into that when you come up with the final idea.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Okay, I sent it labeled as "Resending Possible Dark Type Starter" I also updated the creature with evolution. :)
    -The Black Mask

    ReplyDelete
  127. i would like a Larvesta as mystery gift.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Since the mystery gift will be a Fire type:
    Numel
    Torkoal
    Heatmor
    Larvesta

    ReplyDelete
  129. The next mystery gift should be DITTO!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  130. Or lets just say that fire is winning by a mile.

    ReplyDelete
  131. If you think about it a bit more, you can't tell who are actually the "smart ones". For all you know Pokemaster13 voted for water because water was his/her favorite type (not saying that it is or anything). Also, many of the people who voted fire might of had a reason other than it just being a favorite. But either way, by the end of the game it won't matter about the stats and moves and evolution because we will have a wide variety of Pokemon. There is nothing wrong with voting for something just because you like it. This goes the same for life when some people quit high paying jobs to actually pursue careers that they are actually interested in even if it pays less and requires more hard work. I was thinking about voting for fire, but then in the end I chose rock.

    ReplyDelete
  132. yeah it will be available in the store, the previous blog has info on this

    ReplyDelete
  133. At first I didn't like the first gym but then I leveled my guys up a tiny bit and I figured out how to beat him and I actually really liked it. It was a very good amount of difficulty. Maybe slightly too easy. Concept art of new creature universe pokemon looks awesome btw.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Typical. I cast my vote for Tepig, so naturally that's the one with the least votes.

    ReplyDelete
  135. how the fuck is chimchar winning. he's literally as strong as a bidoof. i never won a battle with him.

    ReplyDelete
  136. What a lovely treat to have starters for our poll! Torchic all the way!!!

    ReplyDelete
  137. Um, Sam, won't making a shiny Fire Starter Mystery Gift be financial suicide for you?, I mean, you hinted to us that you'll make all the regions and squash it all in PTD 2, so when you get to Hoenn there will be Hoenn starters! Just saying. You did the same thing with Charmander, if I remember correctly from the PTD wiki.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Jinglepod ... was that name inspired by Jigglypuff?

I'm suggesting that you should make the colour change between evolutions a little less dramatic.

    Nice work, though!

    ReplyDelete
  139. couldn't have said it better myself

    ReplyDelete
  140. Colours don't have to be similar, just think of some pokémon evolutions like Remoraid -> Octillery or Magikarp -> Gyarados: they suddenly turn another color and the effect is great! Also, color changing highlights the change in the ability to fly and there are many "real life" marine species that change their color during growth.
    Plus, i like that artwork.

    ReplyDelete
  141. There's no great difference between Torchic, Chimchar and Tepig. Their total stats are pretty much the same, all of them have a basic fire-starter moveset and their evolutions are fire/fight types. The only thing that can make the difference between them are their abilities:

    - Torchic: Blaze and Speed Boost;
    - Chimchar: Blaze and Iron Fist;
    - Tepig: Blaze and Thick Fat (becomes Reckless when he evolve into Emboar).

I think that's a good reason to vote Torchic but who don't know this votes on sympathy.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I agree with you but I don't think that's the real gym battle, we don't even get the badge for it... Maybe when we will enter there will be the true gym battle!

    ReplyDelete
  143. Ahaha! Of course they'd be starters... there go my Litwick and Darumaka... :p
    Vote for Torchic!

    ReplyDelete
  144. all i know is that on every game ive owned blaziken is my favorite and i have been able to complete the entire elite 4 on any game with it alone. infernape struggles to make it past the first trainer.

    ReplyDelete
  145. The gym battle was great. I like how it is done. You have to move your Pokémon to dodge the enemy attacks. Just like in PTD1 (Onix's Rock Throw, Celebi's Solarbeam, Muk's Gas, etc). Keep the good work!

    ReplyDelete
  146. Vote Torchic!!!

Blaziken has Infernape beat on all stats except Speed ... but that doesn't matter because Torchic and its evolutions have Speed Boost!!!

    ReplyDelete
  147. c'mon guys! torchic for the win

    ReplyDelete
  148. COME ON!
    STAY STRONG TORCHIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    YOU CAN WINNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Looking back at the old Pokemon, I remember how dramatic it always was to watch a magicarp evolve. Everyone's feelings for the magicarp drastically change. Good times, good times. For those of you who haven't watched it, I am not sure if you completely understand.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I said this in an earlier post, "Generation 1 Pokemon won't appear as mystery gifts because they will all be available to be transferred from PTD1"

    ReplyDelete
  151. I actually thought the same thing when I saw it. Probably because I always liked Super Mario Sunshine.

    ReplyDelete
  152. anyway ditto is catchable near the pokemon day-care and after Goldenrod city, be patient...

    ReplyDelete
  153. All depends on the moveset you have and how you use it, a chimchar is not that weak.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Surely Magikarp is one of the pokémon who change the most after his evolution... from a poor weak fish to a water dragon who can breath fire...

    ReplyDelete
  155. Torchic! Torchic people torchic! Please! How much cooler is blaziken than infernape? And blazikens got such a better moveset!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Yeah come on guys!

    ReplyDelete
  157. Poor Tepig, nobody wants him... T_T

    ReplyDelete
  158. Except you I presume?

    ReplyDelete
  159. Yay! torchic 4 ever!

    ReplyDelete
  160. But surely blaziken's moveset is far superior?

    ReplyDelete
  161. In that case, you may like to consider changing the vote to torchic I hope?

    ReplyDelete
  162. vote for chimchar if you want a mewtwo just give me a pokemon's id i will give a mew or mewtwo for it

    ReplyDelete
  163. I want Tepig.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Emboar is cooler than the both of them put together, so yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  165. No. Tepig for the win.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I disagree vehemently and emphatically. Tepig is better. You want Emboar. We all want Emboar.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Hell, no. I don't defect to the winning side. I stick with what I want to win.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I'd have voted for Heatmor.

    ReplyDelete
  169. and please say that in ptd because i don't come often here

    ReplyDelete
  170. I'd rather have Tepig than Chimchar.
    But no! TorCHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!!!

    ReplyDelete
  171. everyone vote chimchar

    ReplyDelete
  172. the hottest pokemon !!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  173. vote the hottest pokemon theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee CHIMMMMMMMMMMMCHAR !!!

    ReplyDelete
  174. cimchar you need more to win

    ReplyDelete
  175. if its able to lose against a pokemon under level 40 when its level 100, its weak. a level difference like that should allow any level 100 to win with something as simple as tackle.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Omg, if Chimchar will win, then the last pokemon that I need is Elekid! They are my favourite ones! :D

    ReplyDelete
  177. no, i... must... vote for torchic...
sorry dude, but so far, chimchars winning anyway :(

    ReplyDelete
  178. Guys, Chimchar. just no.
    VOTE Torchic!

    ReplyDelete
  179. i think it is wrong to have a starter from other generation but if i have to choose ofcoure chimchar

    ReplyDelete
  180. Actually, I'm fairly certain that it is the real gym battle. Remember in PTD1, we would typically get the badge in the story level after the gym battle. Sam has confirmed this in previous comments.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Yes, but I don't think you can swing enough votes for Emboar, so think about it this way: would you rather have Blaziken, the original fire/fighting sweeper, or Infernape, the cheap rip-off? If we can swing the people from Emboar to Blaziken, then maybe we can beat out Infernape!

    ReplyDelete
  182. Speed BOOOOOOOOOOOSST!!!

    ReplyDelete
  183. Bulk Up, Sky Uppercut and BLAZE KIIIIIIIIICKKK!!!

    ReplyDelete
  184. No, I voted for Torchic ;p
