The final stretch! Round 3...
So my original estimates were off. It will take longer to finish up the story in PTD2. This is mainly due to really trying to put everything I can into these last few fights. I could have made them pretty typical without adding any new enemy attacks and just give everything protect + a lot of HP and speed but I really wanted to end the game with a bang. One of my regrets with PTD1 was that I had to cut out a lot of ideas because I tried to stick to the 1 week limit for creating a level. For these last few fights I want to take my time and get them right. With Round 2 I made it a bit too easy and so I had to reword it a few times (countless times just me testing it) and I also reworked some moves that seemed to be way too good at the time.

..and beyond!
After PTD2 I plan to work on a small game about Dinosaurs Heroes! It's a really small game so once PTD2 is finished I hope to start talking more about it and we can start working on it together as a community. I really value what you guys think and I think together we can make it a pretty fun game. So I'm looking forward to that.

Well, so much for anime nostalgia, especially when there's fast Grass Starters that are bloody fast (Looking at you Sceptile and Serperior). But anyways, atleast you nerf Stored Power despite being an indestructible asset on Baton Pass teams. I mean cmon, its so powerful on Baton Pass teams but now you already gonna cripple it? Anyways, so about that Sunlight mechanic. I know you can lower it using Drizzle Toad or Sandstorm.

    3. Very excited, for sure. But personally, I think it might be better for some people if new pokemon were added before the levels were made. I mean, you agreed that it is time for new evolutions to be introduced, and it would be great to be able to use some new pokemon in our new battles.

      ReplyDelete
    8. i did it using 3 Nkings and 3 Nqueens(all pokemon must have a type in common) helping hand, surf and toxic spikes(for Mega Manitic)

      ReplyDelete
    9. first of all, bout time for a new blog post, the old one was so large ^^
if I may say, if the 3rd round could be around the difficulty of the revamped 2nd round, would be nice

    22. hey sam where will the magnet stone be located then? its not an item to be held its an area to train in

      ReplyDelete
    23. still haven't decided :)

      ReplyDelete
    24. interesting ideas, I still haven't made it so who knows how it will change, a good way to mitigate it will be letting trees grow

      ReplyDelete
    25. glad you like it :)

      ReplyDelete
    26. what abt leafeon and evolution item or method for it and glaceon?

      ReplyDelete
    27. Bad trade off in my book, the trees are buffing the enemies and allowing for even faster passage of an already fast Sceptile, plus pokemon have retarded targeting skill. No matter what I set as the priority on the Watson battle my towers would always attack the generators.
With only 3 pokemon staying on top of enemies that buff from the trees and boost from the lack of trees wouldn't be fun or challenging, it would be rage.
In Round 1 the gimmick was limited pokemon options (Well coordinated team), Round 2 had limited Attack options (abuse buffs and secondary type weaknesses), but Round 3 is just plain stacked because it's 3 gimmicks, limited force on your end and the Sunlight & Trees buffing the pokemon or their moves on their end. The limited force would be easily dealt with, I've got a Roserade that would be rather useful for Meganium forcing us to take Status hits, but the problem arises when you mix in Simisage and Serperior's debuffing powers and Victreebell's ability to seal off 1 of your 3 towers. You can't stay on top of that with a single Helping Hander, Baton Passer, or Hazer and we don't have room for multiple utility pokemon. If we don't want Sceptile to rush right through us we have to kill trees, but doing so will raise the Sunlight which means that it will just spam massive damage Slash attacks. Something's got to give Sam, this fight has 3 gimmicks that work together in some very unfair ways.

      ReplyDelete
    28. why not just make victory road then? its about time we have a new training area, and it would let you get ahead of the areas once it comes time to be putting them in ^^

      ReplyDelete
    29. I agree with u man, the grass level is going to be harder then any thing in the past(I remember the PDT1 3rd gym before nerf, and the C/J in this) the way Sam is setting it up
I don't mind a challenge, but at lest let us have all 6 pokes with the way he's setting this up -_-

      ReplyDelete
    30. use a Golet if u have one, if not, use Sandstorm or Hail, they trigger the explosions eventualy)

      ReplyDelete
    31. hello sam:
the next update will leave this weekend or the next week? Thanks for response. :D

      ReplyDelete
    32. I'm shooting for this weekend but we shall see

      ReplyDelete
    33. it's easier to make it super hard then make it easier

      ReplyDelete
    34. It will be my job to balance it in a way that is not impossible

      ReplyDelete
    35. and that's the problem isn't it -_- all well, I will give thethe old collage try, and if all else fails, wait for the inevitable nerf ;0

      ReplyDelete
    36. I can't evolve my Dusclops. I keep trading while its holding a reaper cloth and it never works

      ReplyDelete
    37. Well I'll trust you Sam, but because I do feel a nerf will be in the future I'm gonna list some more creative ways to go about it other than weakening enemies or playing with spawns.
How about a pokemon with Incinerate can burn Fruit?
Make the trees more susceptible to Freezing, thus temporary incapacitated.
Using Toxic or a Powder move on a fruit also will pass the effect to whatever eats it (if possible. You can't poison Poison Types).
Maybe Pokemon with Pluck or Bug Bite can eat the fruits.
Using Grass Types drains a small percent of Sunlight.
      The previously mentioned Weather Effects.
Attacking a Sceptile by a tree stops it from using it to bounce through your whole defensive line.
Is Venusaur gonna be like Watson's Manectric and be a stationary mega at the top of the screen?

      ReplyDelete
    38. Can someone please give me the list of available tms in ptd2.

      ReplyDelete

      ReplyDelete
    65. really cool ideas there :) not sure if I will add any at this point but they are cool non the less, very creative

      ReplyDelete
    66. so pokemon like mantine , shuckle etc, where do we find them?, left of olivine gym?

      ReplyDelete
    67. Hey Sam when will other shadow moves, tm and move tutor be introduced?

      ReplyDelete
    68. hey sam im quite sure cloud nine wont work but will it any reduce the sunlight buy a small amount?

      ReplyDelete
    69. Some Ideas on the moves than can be used:

Victreebel's Swallow : It will swallow a nearby tower and the hp of the tower will gradually decrease while healing victreebel till the tower dies or victreebel dies. It will stay motionless during this. While pokemon with contact abilities gradually damage victreebel with 1/3rd of its hp and be spit out.

Sceptile's Leaf Blade : Every once in a while Sceptile will spin around and will slice up the area around it, greatly damaging your towers nearby and destroying all fallen tree trunks in the vicinity. The more Sunlight there is the faster this move will recharge.

Serperior's Leaf Storm : Every once in a while serperior will storm the entire stage with leaves greatly damaging your towers and partially damaging the logs. The more Sunlight there is the faster this move will recharge.

Venasaur's Power Whip : Venasaur moves a vine across the stage similar to pidgeot's gust.

Mega Venasaur's Power Whip : It will throw vines across all the columns damaging the towers with full power for the first hit 2/3rd for second and 1/3rd for third hit.

Venasaur/Mega Venasaur's vines : Every once in a while it will throw a vine near Simi/pansage helping them jump closer to the candy.

Torterra's Earth power : It will burst the ground under the towers. This takes some time to be executed and you can remove your tower from the spot(A counter for fire types).

In my opinion Pokemon moves were mostly designed for one on one combat while your Boss moves are move suited for tower defence games. Please do consider this while designing moves for Cosmoids.

1: Is th World Tournament Optional? I just wanna catch Lugia not be sitting there for hours trying to beat that fat lightning bolted mega evolution of Manetric.
2: Can you stop using the "Flip the Sprite" technique for X and Y, cuz i got a link dat'll give u nearly every sprite in ze Kalos region (BTW I pronounce Kalos (Kay-las) not (Kah-los) like Kaos from Skylanders) Plz credit dis guy if needed cuz he might need sum. Here it is:

      ReplyDelete
    95. where you found dubious disc to evolve porygon 2? and where you evlove magneton?

      ReplyDelete
    96. I'm afraid I forgot where was the Dubious Disc, but I think it was in the past. Also in the comments Sam said he'll create an item for evolving Magneton and Nosepass
On the oher hand, Misdreavus doesn't evolve with the Dusk Stone! It's still work on a Doublade, but with Misdreavus doesn't

      ReplyDelete
    97. but what item i use to evolve magneton?

      ReplyDelete
    98. ii found the dubious disc but i only need now evolve magneton and nosseppas

      ReplyDelete
    106. any one willing to share where the new pokes and items are?
and btw people, for you guys and gals asking where to evolve nossepasss and magneton, YOU CANT YET, it takes the world item Magent Rock, and a level up in the area of it to evolve them

      ReplyDelete
    107. you cant atm, it takes the world item Magnet rock, you need to train them atlest 1 level in the area of the rock

      ReplyDelete
    108. What's a Magent rock and what area is it that you have to evolve them.

      ReplyDelete
    109. nossepass and magneton evolve the say way eevee does in to leaf and glace, not by item but by training in a certain area
Eevee needs to be trained in an area with icy stone to evolve in to a glace(is in the game atm due to Ice MG code) where if you wanted a Leaf, you need a Grassy(or is it Mossy?)Stone
Nosse and Ton bot need Electric Rock(I just call it Magnet Rock) to evolve, witch isn't in yet

      ReplyDelete
    135. @samOtero and new pokemons in ptd2 adoption?

      ReplyDelete
    136. @samOtero:

      10 sndcoins natu? It's... scam.... :/

      Realist prices:

      5 sndcoins or2 50 daily coins:
Sudowoodo, Yanma, Murkrow, Misdreavus, Wobbuffet, Gligar, Shuckle, Sneasel, Slugma, Mantine, Skarmory, Houndour, Larvitar, natu, unown, remoraid, chinchou, stantler, miltank, sunkern, swinub, marill, girafarig, teddiursa, delibird, corsola, smeargle. (you catch this pokemons in wild)

      10 sndcoins or 500 daily coins :
Togepi and baby pokemons. (you breed this pokemon, Price = shinies starters).

      ReplyDelete
    137. yeah i like this prices, similar: heracross, aipom, hoppip, etc.... samOtero

      ReplyDelete
    138. @samOtero read this idea, it's great. :P

      ReplyDelete
    139. I kept the price high since it seems rare in the trading center, to preserve some of the rarity, if it's easy to catch in the wild then it shouldn't be a problem to get them for free

      ReplyDelete
    140. Yeah it's easily obtain this pokemon in the wild (i obtain except 7 -yanma, gligar, sneasel, mantine, misdreavus, sudowoodo and shuckl- pokemons in the wild) But the Price are reasonable, I prefer buying 10 sndcoins and buy a couple (and help the game) ... but 10 for 1 neither will do xD

      ReplyDelete
    141. PS: 4 favorable votes in 1 hour? Idea is popular? lol.

      ReplyDelete
    142. yeah i obtain a shiny misdreavus!

      ReplyDelete
    148. Sam please I need you to remove those appalling dating site ads. Mostly kids play this game and we are not interested in women. I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem.

      ReplyDelete
    149. dratini are all in dragons den, same place as clare
I don't think you can fish for them

      ReplyDelete
    150. is there any one willing to trade an electkid or electabuzz out there? and isn't to picky over what they get? been trying for months to get one, but no 1 wants to trade unless its the newest limited code it seems :(

    159. I'm having problems beating Ho-Oh's part. Can you help me out here? Apparently, ALL my pokemon are level 100's, and I am a good strategist, but the level still is too hard! Can you maybe lower their levels?

      ReplyDelete
    160. Hey Sam!
I think it would be better evolving Pokemons with the new Items by trading, or in battle instead of Level-Up while holding it.
I got most of the Pokemons at Level already, so there is no chnce for me to evolve them, am i right?!
Would be nice if you could change that. I think some more Users levelled up their Pokemons to 100 already,
      Thx in advance!

      ReplyDelete
    161. Is there any fan website, specifically a chat, where ptd players can talk to each other. There doesn't seem to be any sort of community other than this comment page and twitter.

      ReplyDelete
    162. Level 100, i wanted to write. Not only Lvl...^^

      ReplyDelete
    163. He has no say in it, they are being put up by a smart ad system. Most smart ad systems allow for preference options to be set and saved as cookies so if you don't want the ads you'll have to do it for yourself, and I'd advise avoiding sites that would make your history imply that those ads are relevant to your interests.

      ReplyDelete
    164. lol i got shiny misdreavous haha lol

      ReplyDelete
    165. So its the smart ads site
I'm gonna send a complaint to them and see what they say. I I never go on dating sites. Like I said this is more of a kids page for Pokemon and I'm still a kid.

And said in twitter that this week add other pokemons. And nothing.

      ReplyDelete
    180. sneasel remoraid and yanma are almost impossible to catch in the wild

      ReplyDelete
    181. gliscor, skarmor, and sudowoodo, too. waves 1 vs 1, makes them are very difficult to capture.

      ReplyDelete
    182. those three we cant catch in the wild we hv to try the lucky breeding it to be shiny/shadow

      ReplyDelete
    183. breeding is very difficult... And gold/dark incense doesn't work, their & are very low...
